Lexibook tablet: good or not good?

Hello,
My 12-year-old son dreams of having a digital tablet, specifically the "Lexibook Tablet". It's still €200. I wanted to know if this tablet is good, educational, and if, as the articles say, it allows for preparing and presenting reports. Are there also cheaper offers?
Thank you in advance.

Hello,

A little tour on a forum dedicated to Android tablets:
http://forum.frandroid.com/topic/78667-lexibook-tablet/

Basically, the specific applications (Lexibook market) are paid and/or in English, so you might as well get a regular Android tablet: at 200 euros it's tight, however there's the Toshiba Folio 100 which is currently being sold for less than 250 euros but it runs Android 2.X (and no 3.X in sight).

I completely disagree with this; I find this tablet wonderfully designed for children of all ages. The English applications also help children learn the most important language in the world, which will be very useful for them in their future lives.

Thank you

Hello, I also find this tablet very useful. I gave it to my daughter for her birthday at the beginning of December, and since then, she has improved in her studies. At the beginning of the term, she had 8.5, and by the end of this term, she has increased a lot, undoubtedly thanks to this miraculous tablet.

THANK YOU FOR THIS LITTLE WONDER THAT WILL MAKE OUR CHILDREN THE GENIUSES OF THE FUTURE.

At first, before buying this tablet, I read various forums, which, among other things, were absolutely unconvincing, but on a site whose name I won't mention, we had the opportunity to be satisfied or refunded. So, I decided to test it. Good choice, I am ................................SATISFIED

Hello, I had a huge problem because of my son; he only read comics and manga. I was desperate to introduce him to literature, and since the Lexibook Touchman tablet has been in our home, my son reads great classics from all languages because reading on something multimedia makes a huge difference.

Hello, I bought the Lexibook tablet for my daughter who was having a lot of trouble with Spanish as well as English. Thanks to this tablet, she learns her vocabulary words with ease and enjoyment and reads great literary works in different languages.

It's an educational gift that you absolutely must buy for your children if they have linguistic problems or even for any kind of gift; this does the job perfectly.

Hello everyone

I gave my daughter the Lexibook tablet, it's great with a 65GB USB key, but the tablet doesn't recognize it; however, it recognizes an 8GB USB key. I wanted to know what the maximum capacity I could use for a USB key is - would a 32GB work or is that too big?

Thank you for your answers.

Hello, I'm hesitating to buy it, I'm looking for a good quality tablet like an iPad but cheaper, here are my questions:
- Can you access games?
- Can you take photos and videos?
- Is the touchscreen of good quality??
Thank you for replying as soon as possible because my birthday is in a week, goodbye,
Martin

Not great!! Lexibook junior tablet bought for our little one (MFC250FR), it doesn't recognize our USB key (Fat32) of 2Go :(
However, a USB keyboard works fine!
Go figure! I'm at a loss here.

Hello,

I bought this famous Tablet at JouéCLUB for my 7-year-old son. He knows how to use my computer equipment perfectly. However, he has major issues with this Tablet:
The touchscreen isn't smooth at all. There are many problems with the screen calibration. The applications to download are in English, and on top of that, they work slowly.
It's impossible to have Flash Player because it's not compatible with this operating system, so "browsing the internet freely" is to be avoided as stated on the packaging. The cartoons on the videostore are all paid and still, when you can access them.
Today, I sent this TABLET back to Lexibook for them to do something about the screen. Honestly, I hope they will take back their Tablet and refund me.
Moreover, your 12-year-old son would be a bit bored with this tablet which, in my opinion and given what's inside, is suitable for younger children.

I can't connect it to my Freebox, can someone help me!! Thanks.

@anne
You need to go into the settings of the Tablet. Look for Wi-Fi connection. The Tablet will recognize the FREEWIFI or your FREEBOX.
If you choose to connect to your FREEBOX, you need to enter your Wep or Wap key that you chose when you activated your WIFI on your FREE account.
If you use FreeWifi, a webpage should open on your Tablet, allowing you to enter your username and password that Free Hotspots freewifi? will provide.
I want to let you know that with this Tablet, I often have to re-enter my codes to access the internet due to frequent Wi-Fi disconnections.
And sometimes, the Wi-Fi is displayed, but the connection doesn't work.
Good luck.

a superb stew...
It's a real shame to offer such a product, honestly...
or rather no, it's an excellent product to make children hate tablets :)

Bad updates, 95% paid market, incompatible Android market, Skype impossible while the grandparents were looking forward to chatting with their granddaughter...
Basically, it will be used to watch movies and listen to music. A bit limited!!

Disappointed... ultra disappointed...

very disappointed ultra fragile tablet (it is still intended for children...) my daughter's tablet can no longer be charged, headphone and charging port are damaged (she has only used it 3 times)... customer service unreachable, premium rate number
email unanswered a scam...

exactly the same for me as Badoune and multiplied by 2 because of 2 girls... in a month I'll send both tablets for repair... it's pathetic to sell such a product with such fragile parts!!! I completely agree with Badoune!!! and on top of that, customer service told me for the first tablet that I would have to pay for the repairs because that wasn’t covered by the warranty... they can go screw themselves!!!

I do not recommend the Lexibook tablet!!! They are thieves....
My daughter got a red tablet and she forgot her code. Well, nothing out of the ordinary for a child EXCEPT that you can't force it. So no worries, we send it back for after-sales service in early January to reset it according to their service.
BUT they don't have the software to do it, so it's early April, still no tablet, they just tell you "oh well we don't know when we're going to receive this file." I've sent I don't know how many emails with no response.
I think you shouldn't sell children’s toys when you're making a child wait 3 and a half months for their Christmas gift and the worst part is that I don't know how much longer we're going to wait. So my daughter is disappointed, I have €170 with Lexibook and an after-sales service that's down the drain!!!
Lexibook is not a SERIOUS company!!!

Same for me. Tablet bought for my daughter at Christmas, already broken 1 month later, sent to Lexibook's customer service who informs me that it is not repairable and that they no longer have stock to send me a new one. Verification on the website shows that tablets are available, so I emailed them asking to send me a new one or to refund me; since then, total silence from them.

I bought the red Lexibook tablet for my 5-year-old son as well. After the second use, the touchscreen stopped working. The customer service is very slow, they provide no follow-up (except for off-topic responses: canned replies) and show no regard for the customer.
200 euros thrown in the trash, not to mention the shipping fees for the repair (14 euros) and all that for a product that is not suitable for a child (or an adult) because of too many problems: a screen that does not react and I would say that the comment left by everyone, especially "jns55 - Nov 27, 2012 at 9:32 PM", resonates with me completely, not much to add.
Lexibook is synonymous with scam for me, and their customer service is not worthy of being called after-sales service....

I am really disappointed with this tablet; it's only 2 months old and it no longer works.

This tablet is worse than useless, don't let yourself be scammed like we did!!!!
The tablet is too limited in use. All the applications are paid, and the installation is not easy at all.
My son had the brilliant idea of setting a password that he forgot to lock the screen, and of course, he forgot it. I called customer service, and apparently, I have to send the tablet back and pay to reset the passwords.
It’s better to buy them a notebook or mini laptop for 50 euros more; you get better ergonomics and a lot more choice for games...

Absolutely not to buy, it's the biggest mistake you could make.
It's impossible to do anything with these tablets.
But I'm not going to stop there, they'll hear about it.
Enough to tear your hair out. GRRRRRRR

I do not recommend this product that I received for Christmas. Sometimes it glitches for incomprehensible reasons, and then we have to reset it with a pin. The charger is really not sturdy because the plug of mine got stuck inside. So now I have to charge it with the USB cable. But after a while, when I try to unlock it, the keyboard pops up and the keys react on their own without me having pressed them. I think I will return it and buy another tablet.

Yes, that's totally true!! And I think I can speak for everyone when I say: this product does not meet the advertised expectations, it should be taken off the market. What is the fraud prevention service doing?

Hello,

We are disappointed. It broke down quickly, we sent it to customer service since February and we haven't received a response or it's leaving in 10 days. No customer service, no after-sales service, help!!!!

Hello,
Forget the Lexibook tablets that supposedly have integrated parental control!!! Because that's not true at all!!! A real tablet with real parental control would be much more suitable.

Hello,
Last year I bought a Lexibook Master tablet for my son in December, and in January we found out that it wouldn't turn on. Having lost the receipt, I then bought another Lexibook Ultra tablet. He dropped it, so I decided to take it to customer service. Customer service advised me against sending it for repair because there were already long turnaround times for normal issues, and I would have had to pay about the price of the tablet to repair the screen.

In December, I also bought a LeapPad tablet for my daughter, and she still has it, and she hasn't had any problems with it, even though it has already fallen.

I do not recommend.

Hello,
I see that we are not the only ones having issues with this tablet, if we can call it that! We are very disappointed with this purchase, my son only uses it to play one game that was pre-installed. It’s very complicated to install new apps, the "touch" screen is really not sensitive when it comes to charging connection... absolutely not suitable for a 7-year-old child! My son's tablet is therefore, like many others I see, in for repair because it no longer charges... after 9 months of not really intensive use...
Conclusion: I do not recommend this purchase.

Really a bad product.
Incompetent customer service (probably outsourced given the spelling mistakes)

Hello, can we return this bug bag to Lexibook? We're fed up with this product; aside from a few small games (or for me to read), it does not fulfill its role at all: the touchscreen is either overly sensitive or unresponsive, making it temperamental. How can we get a refund?

Hello
I bought a MFC170 FR tablet on the Lexibook website.
A week after opening the product, on December 25th, the tablet unfortunately fell from the couch, just 25cm. Well, the screen broke. TOO FRAGILE!!! My phone is 1000 times sturdier, and my other tablet (costing 60 euros) is too.
I quickly called customer service, knowing my product was under warranty. And the SURPRISE!!!!!!!! Everything is guaranteed except the screen........ What a SCAM!!!!!!!
Really, do not buy this product unless you want to be disappointed by customer service, the product itself had already let me down significantly.
WHY ??????
1 - The touch screen of the tablet is a disaster. Note that the screen is resistive rather than capacitive, meaning you really have to press down when you touch it. There is no fluidity. So for someone like me who struggled, imagine a child.......
2 - All the gift cards that offer applications are impossibly difficult to install. I wasted a lot of time on this. Yet I know my way around.
3 - It is extremely fragile.
4 - Customer service is a "pain in the neck". The standard number is abroad, and the representative doesn't always understand what is being asked.... grgrgrrrrrrrrr. It is also very difficult to get through to them. As for the customer service email address, don't bother writing; they never respond. I've sent 3 messages since January, and as of mid-February, I still have no reply.
5 - The advertising is misleading. Everything looks simple and great, but it's NOT AT ALL.
DO NOT BUY IT FOR YOUR CHILDREN, IT IS A DISASTER. RATHER GET A STANDARD TABLET.

In short, it's a very expensive product (150 EUR) for what it is. Additionally, I bought it with accessories (headphones, case, and screen protector) for a total of 180 euros.
I THOUGHT I WOULD MAKE MY SON REALLY HAPPY. INSTEAD, I ONLY FRUSTRATED HIM.

A DEEPLY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE......

I confirm!!!!
I bought my children tablets for last Christmas, a Kids pad and a master... to make it more age-appropriate...
after a month, the charging port came loose on the Kids pad.
Returned to Leclerc where I had bought it. They told me no problem, it's under warranty, that was on January 31, 2013.
In the end, I just got a refund last week (at the end of April) because after 3 months of waiting, no news... as for customer service? What customer service???? They don't respond!!!!!!!
So far, the master is holding up... let's hope it lasts!!!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND LEXIBOOK
