Hello everyone,
I have a PS3 Slim 120Gb bought in February 2010, so it's no longer under warranty.
When I try to turn it on using the PS button on the controller, the console doesn't power on, so I have to turn it on using the button on the console. Once it's on, it shows the PS3 presentation (the waves), then my theme, but the icons in the PlayStation menu are not displayed. When I put a game in, it doesn't launch it.
When I want to turn it off, whether using the PS button or the button on the console, it beeps once (the green LED blinks), then after a few seconds, it beeps twice.
After waiting several minutes hoping it will turn off by itself, the only way is to unplug it :(
(no YLOD)
Is there a way for my PlayStation to display its menu again?
Thank you for your help in advance, hoping someone can assist me.

Hello,
Reinstall your FIRMWARE
Take a USB key, create a folder called "UPDATE" in all caps, download the latest FIRMWARE from the SONY website and put it in the folder.
Connect the USB key (make sure it is formatted as FAT32), turn on your console, and since you can't access the XMB as soon as it starts, press SELECT and START simultaneously. -
This mode provides functions that allow you to save your PS3 in case of failure.
In case of issues such as the XMB menu disappearing, incorrect handling, or for example if you turn off your PlayStation 3 during an update and later your console no longer responds to anything, this mode provides functions that allow you to save your PS3 in case of failure. It applies to both FAT and SLIM PS3s.
To access this mode, proceed as follows: the console must be turned off, but the red light on the power (I/O) button at the front must be visible. Press this button and wait for the console to turn off, then press the same button again, wait until you hear one beep, wait until you hear two beeps, then immediately release your finger, the recovery mode will appear.
1 Restart the system: this restarts the console, but you may need to reconfigure audio and video settings.
2 Restore default settings: During this operation, the default system software settings and information related to the currently logged-in user are restored. Please be careful when performing this operation, as changes to settings cannot be undone. The user is responsible for any loss or alteration of data. You will need to re-enter your PlayStation®Network login ID and password, and restore the internet connection.
3 Restore file system: This can fix corrupted data.
4 Rebuild database: This organizes the hard drive data. Game folders will be deleted.
5 Restore PS3 system: This will delete all content on the hard drive and restore the default system software settings (like when it was new).
6 System update: Installs the latest PS3 software update. This must be done via a USB storage device. Procedure here. -
