Counter Strike Source, no servers found

Anonymous user -

Hello,
I bought Counter Strike Source via Steam yesterday, I installed Steam and CSS properly, but when I click "search server," no servers are displayed, even after reinstalling, restarting the computer, and disabling the firewall...

Thank you in advance for your help.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Opera 9.80

For using xfire:

-Create an account to detect your games.
-Go to the "server" tab at the bottom, you will find "all"
-Double click on "all"
-Your game list appears, select Counter Strike Source (double click)
-The list appears
-TIP: Do not maximize xfire, you need to enlarge the right panel when xfire is not maximized (manageable with the arrow in the bottom right corner of the xfire window, this way you will clearly see the server information you are going to select.
-Select a server (1 click) because 2 will connect you to the game.
-Look in the right panel, the IP is visible, do a copy and paste
-Now launch Counter Strike Source, go to server search, favorites, add favorite, there you paste the IP and search for the server, select it with a double click when it appears, then go to "favorites", you need to refresh again and voilà your first favorite server, just double click on it to connect. And repeat the operation to add servers.

Tip 2: Enable the console:
In Steam, select Counter Strike Source, right-click properties, look for "set launch options."
A window opens where you will write this: -console, do a copy paste without spaces please.
Click ok, now as soon as the game launches, the console opens which will help you because on certain servers you need to download sound files or maps that you do not have and sometimes you get an error message that you cannot connect, in this case, type in the console "retry", it should work every time.
The console can help you adjust your game (crosshair size, rate settings, display your FPS, and many others)
You can quickly connect to a server if you have the IP in copy-paste: launch Counter Strike when the console opens
type: connect xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxxx, xxx = the IP, and hit enter.
The connection should be made directly.

I hope this will help you because I notice a lot of people have this problem.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Hello, for your problem
The firewall should not be disabled, turn it back on! The antivirus has nothing to do with it either.
Like everyone else, I don't have a server but the game works; I suggest you use the software xfire to detect your CSS, then you can see all the servers.

I found the solution. Go to the library, right-click on your game (Counter-Strike Source, that is)
click on properties, then click on beta
select none, do not participate in any beta
when you launch Counter, it will update. Enjoy!

No, I don't have any friends ^^ I created a Steam account just for Counter Strike, I just added you.

I will try what you suggested.

Good evening everyone!

I actually have the same problem...

I just reinstalled CS Source from Steam, but nothing works, I can't see any servers.

Does the fact that I have a Freebox Revolution play a role?
Are there any specific configurations?

Thank you in advance.

No, it’s the same for everyone as far as I know... No server list in Steam or (not since a certain update)
Reinstalling doesn't help, use Xfire to find out the IPs and then add them to your Steam favorites.
Xfire here https://www.clubic.com/telecharger-fiche13289-xfire.html

Thank you for your response, Lilo.

I will do as you suggest in that case.

Hello hello,

I have the solution to your problem "vinc23" so it's really simple.

You need to right-click on Steam > settings > downloads tab and change the "download region" to "UK London."

After that, you should restart Steam and then launch CSS and magic, the servers should be back :DDDD

There you go, happy fragging!

P.S.: mark your topic as resolved :p

Go to this website http://www.gametracker.com/search/css/FR/#search
Then copy the IP address of the server you are interested in and in the favorites tab, click on add a server and paste the IP address.
After this manipulation, everything returned to normal. I found servers again.
Enjoy
