Counter-Strike Sound Issues

Hello, I have a sound problem in Counter-Strike, it's quite difficult to explain.
I can hardly hear myself running or shooting, or at least very little, in Counter-Strike 1.6 and I don't know where it's coming from while I can hear the others a bit better.
I have, of course, checked everything I know. Configuration is good, etc.
It was still working well yesterday.

Salut ; j'ai un problème depuis hier, j'entends moins les effets sonores sur CSS ! Je jouais tranquille et à la map suivante, paf j'entends très mal les bruits de pas, mes tirs de fusil, etc., alors qu'ils marchaient juste bien avant et je n'ai rien touché ! Pouvez-vous m'aider ? J'entends par contre très bien les gens qui me parlent sur TS ou Mumble.

I have found the solution to the problem for those whose CSS sound has decreased or cut off significantly. If you are using Vista, I have the solution to the problem. Here it is:

Start => Control Panel => Hardware and Sound => Sound, then Adjust the system volume, and you will see all your programs (CSS needs to be on) and adjust the sound of CSS which is normally at the lowest level.

There you go! :)

Hello,
I found out how to fix the problem. Just go to the audio driver and uncheck voice cancellation. I had this problem, and I solved it in one evening. Have fun and good luck!

Hello, I have a problem similar to others; when I connect to CSS, I have no sound anymore and I can't even see if people are talking, the voice icons don’t show up as if I were muted.
This really bothers me, if someone could help, I would be very grateful.

Updating the drivers doesn't solve everybody's problem!
So thanks to no one (except those who don't know how to update their drivers)

PS: to update your drivers, there's the website touslesdrivers.
Run a scan of your PC and install what you're missing!

PS2^^: my problem disappeared like magic without me changing anything! (**** steam)

Hello, I just found the solution to your problem. You just need to launch Counter-Strike, then return to Windows, and after that go to the sound settings. There, you will find the Counter-Strike application and you can adjust the sound because, in fact, Mumble has reduced the CS sound to the minimum. So adjust it and then you can play and it's good.

I have exactly the same problem; I can hear others shooting but not myself, and everything I do (running...) I can only hear the sound of the casings, it's really annoying. Please, if anyone knows what to do, you are welcome!! Thank you.

Hello,
Did you try rebooting your machine xD? I could hear the sound of the shells loudly when I didn't reboot for 2 days. Otherwise, try reinstalling the sound driver, sorry, that's all I have to suggest.

Hello everyone, I have the same problem as you, I have 2 Steam accounts with CSS!
the first one works perfectly, and the second one has no sound in CSS.
I tried copying and pasting from the first account, but it doesn't work!

I saw posts from 2 years ago or even older that still don't have an answer to this bug!
Long live Steam and its bug fixes that must work 2 days a year!

I had to reinstall my drivers every 2 days for a week when I had no sound, and now it's working again like magic!
