Set Counter-Strike to French

Hello everyone,

So if you have the Steam interface in French but your games (cstrike) in English, it's probably the Steam depot (server) that's causing it. Here's a solution for those who want to get started.
1_ search/retrieve the GCFScape application
this tool will allow you to reinstall your files (French) from the *.gcf files found at the root of the steamapps directory
For example, for Counter-Strike, you need to find a file named counter-strike french.gcf:
Launch GCFScape to open this file

2_ In the hierarchy displayed in GCFScape, navigate to the cstrike directory

3_ Right-click on each directory and file and click on 'Extract'

4_ select your destination directory ...\steam\steamapps\your_login\counter-strike\cstrike_french

you need to extract the directories maps, sound, resource, manual and all *.txt files

That's it :-)

Make sure the Steam interface is indeed in French and launch your game, it should work.

ps: this applies to all Mods

lol you say problem solved give the solution or stop bringing it up my dear. Try to set Steam to French in the Steam settings it will restart your Steam then set it back to French after an update it will be fine my dear.

it's all good, I found my problem, it was that Steam was in French but the Counter home page was in English. I'll explain how I reverted the home page to French, it's simple but I admit I searched a bit

you go into Steam and go to the GAMES tab, then you get to where you have all your Steam games, okay? You right-click on Counter and go to SETTINGS, then you go to language and select French, unless you're Russian lol byeeeee!

I have CS 1.6 in English and stream in English.

Go to "steam" after "my games", right-click on css, properties, language, select French
and that's it

To set Counter Strike in French, you must buy it in French language. In my opinion, there is no other solution.

j'ai un problème avec Counter Strike 1 Anthologie. J'ai acheté le CD dans un magasin en Allemagne, j'ai installé et je ne sais même pas c'est quoi
j'ai installé Steam et j'ai ouvert comme une boîte mais ça ne ferme jamais, je ne sais pas pourquoi. Et le problème c'est que je ne sais même pas où je rentre pour jouer
quand j'essaie, elle affiche une page d'acheter le Valve ou le pack avec 9 $ et un pack complet ça fait 99 $, alors que j'ai acheté mon CD avec 19 euros. Je ne sais vraiment pas quoi faire, aide-moi s'il te plaît (drips_85@hotmail.com). Merci d'avance.

Well, you go into a server, you bring up the console and then you type: amx_language after you close the console and you'll see all the languages go by! =D
