Counter-Strike Source --> Problème de résolution

Hello, I have a Geforce 6800GS:XT card and I can play at full settings in 1280x1024 (LCD) without any problem, but since I just acquired a 22" wide screen, I would like to play in 1600x1200 but that resolution is not offered in the menu, what can I do?

Hey everyone, here’s my problem: I've had Counter-Strike Source for a week and I went into the settings (in the game) to change the screen resolutions. Since then, I can't play; the screen is all black with a red box that says "out of range h:36 v:61 1280 by 1024." How can I fix this? Please help!!!!</slt>

I have the same problem, I was playing, I went to options, video, resolution, I changed it like an idiot, now when I turn it on, the screen is all black and it says out of range, is there any way to reset the settings to default without going through Counter-Strike?????

Steam > My games > Right-click on Counter-Strike Source > Properties > Launch options > Write:
"-w 800"
Without the quotes, of course.

Salut à tous, voilà mon problème : depuis une semaine, j'ai Counter-Strike Source et je suis allé dans les réglages (dans le jeu), j'ai changé les résolutions d'écran et depuis, je ne peux plus jouer. Il y a l'écran tout noir avec un carré rouge où il y a écrit dedans "hors de la plage h:36 v:61 1280 fois 1024". Comment puis-je faire ? Aidez-moi, s'il vous plaît !!!!

The problem is that I can no longer access CSS and my screen resolution should be 1024*768, but I had set it to 1280*1024 in CSS, so when I try to access CSS it says out of range, and I can no longer play.

Same for me, same problem
the problem doesn't come from our config
steam starts well, no worries
but the game launches with a black screen and a message "out of range" or "H something and V whatever" for others due to the choice of a non-native resolution of the screen or TV (for me SHARP 42X20E)

We tried deleting all the game files (including steam) and reinstalling, but nothing works, the problem persists!!

Hello everyone, so here it is, I launched my CSS and when I went into my settings, I mistakenly set the resolution too high and now I see everything in black with a message from my screen saying it’s too big. Hello!

There are several config.cfg files lying around in the cs folders. Copy a blank config.cfg and replace the old one.
As for the resolution issue, here's how it worked for 1.6:
Steam > My Games > Right-click on CSS > Properties > Launch Options > type "-window" OR "-w 800" > ok.
No quotes.

however, I had this problem because CSS started to lag even though I had a good ping, so I looked in the options for something that could modify this issue.
But! after solving the problem, I'm still lagging which is strange because I have a good ping (it's moving slowly)

I hope someone has had this issue before, please help me =(

Hi everyone, I have a problem with CSS. I downloaded a cheat just to see what it was like and even before activating it, when I launch Steam, it asks me for my account name and password. That's weird because usually Steam starts without me having to enter my password and everything, and it’s normally in French. When I say it's moving slowly, it doesn't mean it's lagging like crazy, it just isn't as smooth as before. Is it a connection problem? Help me!! Please =(

IDIOT! If you're lagging, it's only because of your computer's power or the quality of your connection (wifi, I guess)
otherwise you need a 1.45 ROM completed in 16.2

if that doesn't work, compress the pps and restore the System b.6
this will fix everything that contains video and connection issues because the pps need a good connection to improve video quality
if all that doesn't work, it could be a badly downloaded update, so your STEAM account becomes completely in pps. 544

If you have a black screen when launching the game, here is how to solve the problem.

Before launching your game, select it from the list on Steam and click on "Properties," then "Launch Options," and there you write -autoconfig The game will suggest a resolution compatible with your configuration.

For those who have the console, in the launch options, you need to write -console -autoconfig

Some clarifications:

- To modify the launch options, you need to right-click on the game in the list of games under Steam and select "Properties"

- To avoid having a black screen in "Launch Options," write: -autoconfig and launch your game. Steam will automatically find a compatible resolution with your hardware.

- Then you can go to the game options and choose, for example, "Aspect ratio": Widescreen 16:10 and "Resolution": 1440x900

- If you want your game to keep this resolution every time you launch it, then, in the launch options, instead of -autoconfig, you should write -w 1440 -h 900

There you go.
