PGX trace opening issue on WhatsApp

Hello,

With friends we share on our WhatsApp group ideas for hikes in .gpx that we create on WeTrek (an app that replaces IGN Rando). Until about 2 weeks ago everything worked very well. I could open the files normally, view them, and save them. But now that is no longer the case and it is inconvenient. It’s as if WhatsApp no longer recognizes WeTrek and tries to open the files in another way that isn’t offered to me. I don’t know how to fix this anomaly. Could you please help me? A detail that might be important: I own a Samsung Galaxy J5

    Hello,

    WhatsApp often changes how it handles GPX files, and suddenly your usual ViewRanger app is no longer offered to open them.

    With updates pushed by Android or WhatsApp, these associations can be erased.

    You can reset the GPX file association.

    Also, check if ViewRanger can still open the GPX files.

    Several solutions are to be explored.
