How to convert .aup file Solved/Closed

Hello everyone,
I had some issues with a software. I would like to ask you a few questions...
I downloaded the software: Audacity (from telecharger.com) which is used to record vocal music (and yes, I am a singer). Anyway, when I finish recording a song, the music is saved in .aup format (a format that can only be read by Audacity). And there lies my problem, I would like to know how I could convert these .aup files to .mp3 or .wma or something that is readable by Windows Media Player.

????? Well, it's simple: you open your file with Audacity and you have a simple command File > export as WAV / export as MP3 -=O(_BmV_)O=- "Love as a sword, humor as a shield" (B. Werber)

Hi.

I don't have it on hand right now, but there should be an "export ..." or "save as ..." command in Audacity itself; you can choose from several output formats and it does it automatically.

to use LAME

you launch Audacity and click on "export as .mp3"

it will ask you where "lame etc..." is, you indicate where you put it

and that's it, nothing could be simpler!

Hello, so I have files in .aup format, but I didn't save them from my computer; I received them from someone else. The problem is, I downloaded Audacity, but it refuses to open the files... What should I do??

Hi Laura, the .aup files are not readable as they are: they only contain information independent of the recorded tracks: name, L/R channels, overlap, volume, balance...

The audio files are recorded in the XXX_data folder corresponding to the name of the XXX.aup file, in .au format; without them, playback is not possible....

Hi everyone, the "lame" that Mr SurfAdCom gave is missing a DLL file, here it is download it http://www.webhostxpress.net/%7Emitiok/lame-3.96.1.zip then with Audacity you export the song in MP3 and you indicate the location of lame and it's done!!!

Me, I prefer that you export it as a wav sound, save it, and then once that's done, convert the wav file to mp3 using a converter. No need for LAME, hehe. Good evening to everyone!

TO USE LAME WITH AUDACITY:

download lame here: http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/lame_enc.dll
(make sure to note the location where lame is saved (it is the file lame_enc.dll), you will need to indicate where it is located. If you do not want to accidentally delete it later, save it in: C:/program files/Audacity)

Download and install the French help file here: http://www.ac-amiens.fr/inspections/60/crepy_en_valois/4dl/logiciels/AideAudacity1.2FR.exe

Open Audacity, Edit/Preferences/Interface/Language: select French.

Then in Edit/Preferences/File Formats/MP3 export settings/browse for library: indicate where your lame_enc.dll file is located

You should now be able to edit in mp3.

BONUS: for those who want to install effects, additional processing: echo, chorus, equalizer, delay, flanger, vocoder, ...

Download and install the VST module (which allows VST effects to work): http://audacityteam.org/vst/vst-bridge-1.1.exe
