recording with a turned-off TV Solved

Hello everyone,

I just bought a "SAMSUNG LE26D450ZF" 26" LCD flat screen TV,
which I connected to my Numericable decoder and then to my DVD recorder,
I made the same connections as when I had the analog TV, except that
when I want to record, the TV has to be on; as soon as I turn off the TV, the recording
stops and I have a blue screen instead. What could this be due to? It worked very well with the other TV but not with this one. I can record, but I have to leave the TV on, which is not practical when I want to schedule a recording when I'm not around. Thank you in advance for your help.

Good evening,

You need to connect a cable from the decoder to the recorder and another from the recorder to the TV.

It is the decoder that sends signals to the recorder, not the TV.

Additionally, an extra cable from the Numericable decoder to the TV.

Whether the TV is on or off does not affect the recording that takes place BEFORE THE TV.

Hello everyone, the issue is still not resolved, I still have to keep the TV on.
I only have one SCART socket, so I tried to connect a R/L/Y cable (Red/White/Yellow) to a Pr/Pb/Y output (Red/Blue/Green).
There was a slight improvement, I had sound but no image.
I don't know what else to try,

Re,  The connections of the first line of my response are sufficient.  The signals are emitted by THE DECODER, so independently of the TV.  An antenna cable to the decoder + a scart cable from the decoder to the recorder and a cable from the recorder to the TV. That's all for recording.  The channels to be recorded must be selected from the decoder, the TV only serving as a monitor to view the operations to be performed.

So, I'm reconnecting my connections as indicated above and I'm changing nothing.

However, since the TV is new, it's equipped with a built-in TNT decoder, so you need to install a T on the antenna cable to watch TNT broadcasts.

With my explanations, there is no need to have 2 SCART sockets on the TV.

If you follow my instructions, everything should work; I can't do more for you, except go to your place and connect it as I indicate.

Please try it exactly as I recommend.

I solved the problem by contacting the customer service of Boulanger and now it works. They fiddled with something involving an HDMI cable and I’m not quite sure what else, but it works. Thank you for your help anyway.
