Hello,
I installed a decoder for the Orange TV, everything is working well.
But I would like to connect a second TV, which is located quite far from the Livebox.
How can I do this? Can I extend the Ethernet cable?

Hi,

the Ethernet cable goes from the Livebox to the decoder, and you connect to the TV from the decoder using a SCART cable, so how would extending the Ethernet cable allow you to receive anything? You would either need a second decoder, and I don't think that's currently planned by Orange, or a wireless transmitter to send the image from the SCART cable to another TV set.
But at that point, you'd have the same channel on both TVs.

You need to connect one TV with an HDMI cable and the other with a Scart socket (HD decoder + an HD TV), and it works.

The Ethernet cable is only used for updating the decoder at startup or for downloading movies or series; otherwise, it is not needed to watch TV. Personally, I never turn it off; it doesn't get hot and doesn't consume much. You just need a 10m Ethernet cable (€5) for installation in another room and it's done. With 2 or 3 decoders, it's the same, connected to a satellite antenna with a switch a few meters from the dish to send the cables to several receivers. Otherwise, there's the more expensive CPL, which can handle up to 8 sockets or more and up to 4 Ethernet ports per CPL; it's practical and efficient, with 25 to 35 Mbps real speed for 85 Mbps and 80 Mbps real for 200 Mbps. Then, you need several decoders to watch different channels.

To complete, I specify that modern laptops have an output for an HDMI cable and that recent televisions also have one (or more) HDMI ports.
This solution with a laptop allows you to watch a different (or the same) television program compared to the program viewed through the Orange decoder.
