Unable to install a network printer

Hello everyone :)
I was wondering why I can't install, via the Windows Add Printer utility, a printer connected to the local network that I can ping, but that I can't seem to add.

The utility gives me the following error message (knowing that I entered: \\10.5.5.105) :

"Windows cannot connect to the printer. You might have entered an incorrect printer name, or the specified printer is no longer connected to the server."

Is this still one of the quirks of computing or is my incompetence playing tricks on me?
Thanks in advance for all your answers! :D

And feel free to ask if you need more details :)

Try to install it this way: choose Local Printer instead of Network Printer, then uncheck Detect and auto-install my Plug and Play printer and click Next.

Here you’ll be asked which port you want to use: go to Create a new port and choose Standard TCP/IP Port. Next

A new window will open; it will ask for the printer name or its IP address. At this moment, enter your IP address 10.5.5.105; the second field will fill in automatically. Again Next, it will then ask for additional information; do not change anything, click Next, then Finish.

Next it will ask which driver to use for this printer. Select the right driver and then the end of the installation should not pose any problem.

      I hadn't seen your reply!
I had given up for all this time but I will not fail to try this method again on occasion! Thank you!
