Hello,
I have a SIP phone but I always forget the power supply somewhere and it turns out it's very, very far away. I need to supply 5V and I have a 6V adapter. Could the 6V damage the phone?
Thanks in advance!
Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 4.0.1

Hmm... let's say that the device is not designed for 6V.
Using it at 6V for a VERY short time might work, as the potential difference is only slightly high... but it's honestly a complete hack, and it will still significantly degrade your device...
Also, if it's a cheap phone, forget it right away, because there are HUGE risks.
Keep in mind that you should stay very close to the device, just in case...
I still advise against this hack.
