Hello
I would like to know if it is possible - without any risk - to replace a 5V 1A USB charger with another 5V 1.2A charger?
What impact would it have on charging (faster, slower?), and most importantly, could it damage the phone's battery?
Additional information: the battery is 1700 mAh.
Thanks for only responding if you are sure of yourself :)

Chargers are simply there to provide a given voltage (usually 5V) and a certain MAX current, which is the value indicated on them.
GPS devices or phones have a battery (usually 3.7V) and their own charging regulator that regulates the charging current and stops the charging when the battery is full.
Therefore, replacing one charger with another that has the same voltage but a higher max current poses no issues regarding charging time or battery lifespan, since the device itself manages its own charging.
