I gave a gift set last year in June, but the person did not validate it immediately. Today, they want to use it, but there is no possibility to register it without the receipt???? Obviously, I no longer have the receipt, I only have the credit card statement which cannot serve as proof of purchase since other purchases were made at the same time. I really feel like I'm being accused of stealing this gift set by being asked for proof of purchase. It seems to me that the proof is the possession of the gift set..... So I am stuck with a paid gift set but unable to use it. What should I do? Have you encountered this type of problem? Thank you for your answers.

Just like Kusco, if I remember correctly, I didn't need a receipt (in which case there’s no point in giving such a gift...), nor did I need to validate the Box immediately.
I just had to activate the gift voucher after making my choice (voucher number and confidential code in the box, I believe), at the time of booking with the partner.
But I'm thinking, isn't the validity date of your Smarbox past by any chance?

I encountered this problem before, but I didn't need proof of purchase at that time; it seems to be the new instructions. My smartbox is valid until October 2012, but it cannot be used if it is not activated by the retailer or smartbox...
Exactly the same problem with a SMARTBOX gift certificate for a birthday. I can't validate my gift voucher because the smartbox supposedly wasn't activated at checkout (according to SMARTBOX...). They are also asking me for the receipt, without which the gift voucher will be lost. I have the same unpleasant feeling that they are accusing the person who gave it to me (or myself, for that matter) of having stolen it! I told them that their products are a complete scam, to which I was kindly told that my complaint would be forwarded to their management in the hope that it would help them improve their product!!! Well, I think I can also throw my gift box away... but I'm definitely going to give them some negative publicity, that's for sure...

I received a relaxation gift box as a gift, in September 2014 I went online to check the validity date of the box (12/2015) and today I decide to make a reservation and to my surprise my box is not activated, yet when I logged in to check the validity date nothing was mentioned to me, I cannot have the receipt since it's a gift, I went to the forums and to my surprise I am not the only one with this problem, is it a scam or a manufacturing defect of the boxes? How can I enjoy my gift? I am waiting for your response.
