Hello, I recently bought an Eeepc computer with Windows 7. The problem is that I only have one account, and yet I'm not an administrator. I've been on a few forums, but they all suggest "tricks" that ultimately don't work! Apparently, Windows complicates simple things. So if someone knowledgeable in computers could help me please? Oh yes, also, for instance, when I run a program as an administrator, I'm asked for a password, and I don't have one, so I can't do anything, not even download software. Please help me! Thank you in advance for your help :D!

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6.15

    Hello,

I had the same problem with an Acer, Windows 7 Home Edition. Here’s how I resolved the issue:

    1) Start in Safe Mode (during startup, hold down F8, then choose "Safe Mode")

    2) Log into the administrator account (which suddenly appears in this mode!!)

    3) Go to "Control Panel", "User Accounts and Family Safety", "Manage another account". There, select your account (which is listed as "Standard user") and then click on "Change the account type" and set your account as an "Administrator" account.

    4) All you have to do is validate the changes and restart your computer normally.

    Good luck!!
