Virgin mobile network issue

Hello,

I’m not sure if I’m posting this message in the right place, but I’ll give it a try!
So, I’ve had a Samsung mobile for almost two years now with a SIM card that hasn’t changed since. But suddenly, I can no longer make calls, receive calls, send or receive messages; it either says “service unavailable” or “emergency calls only,” and on the home screen, instead of “Virgin,” it shows “searching...” or “limited service.” Nevertheless, I have full signal bars. This started happening right after my little brother messed with my phone by doing the LCD test *#0*#. He had done it before, but I managed to get my phone working again, but now it’s impossible, even after turning it off and on, removing the SIM card, or resetting it. Please help me! Thank you!

It's Virgin Mobile; I think they're cutting the network because my friend has the same problem as you.

It's funny, pretty much the same problem that I summarize below:

May 16, 2011 around 8:30 AM, my phone says "NETWORK UNAVAILABLE." Relay antenna problem????
2 hours later, still nothing, several ON/OFF of the phone, the problem is the same...
11:30 AM, call to customer service.
Line canceled due to "ATTEMPTED FRAUD" on my part.
Reason: payments refused because there was an issue with my card

For your information, there was indeed a problem with my old credit card which has since been changed by my bank

I point out that there has been no letter/email or message indicating an incident from their service
Customer service informs me that a collection agency will contact me for the reimbursement of arrears as well as the remaining months of the 24 months, amounting to approximately €900.
I indicate that this will not happen and I will initiate proceedings against them if necessary.

Step 1:
Appointment with my bank the very next day to get an official document stating my past credit card issue. Document completed.
Step 2:
Visit to the local UFC-QUE CHOISIR office for information.
Advice 1:
Registered letter explaining the situation
Insertion of a check for the arrears owed
Official document from the bank regarding the credit card issue
Advice 2:
If a collection agency contacts me or if there are other actions (abusive seizures, etc...). Case taken over by UFC-QUE CHOISIR for follow-up.

Step 3:
Letter completed and sent.

Ah okay, how long has he been having this problem? Does he still have all his signal bars?

me too, same here, I have all the bars but it's impossible to get customer service. I receive calls and texts, but as soon as I try to call, it says "call forbidden." Same with texts, so forget about Virgin Mobile, I haven't been able to call for 2 days.

Hello everyone
My friend has had the same problem since this morning...
We're going to need to ask Virgin for explanations and a gesture!

I'm experiencing exactly the same thing except that I haven't changed anything. I also have Virgin and I can't send or receive messages or calls, and I have no signal bars, and it only shows emergency calls. This happens even when I'm in downtown Dijon. I don't really know what's going on; maybe it's a network error on their part. How long have you been dealing with this?

Hello everyone,
Same issue, all my bars and all services are unavailable...
No more success trying to change my phone,
the customer service contacted with a neighbor's phone will call me back in 5 working days... it's clever since my phone doesn't work...

I join Francky and Nissa.

Well, to reassure you... since my first post, I still haven't been able to resolve the issue...

So I've been without a phone for 15 days and Virgin Mobile doesn't care at all!
I've made about one call a day (goodness, it’s such a hassle!), they promised me a new SIM card for Monday... it’s Thursday and it still hasn't arrived.

I thought about cutting off the automatic payment from my account to theirs, but apparently that wasn't a good idea; the complications that could arise might be worse, so I reinstated it... and now, well, I don’t know what to do, no recourse and a customer service that doesn’t exist and doesn’t give a damn about you... and that lies too!!!

On top of that, I seriously doubt that it’s due to a suddenly dead SIM card... it hasn’t left its place, there was no particular shock, no reason for it to be in bad shape.
Their database is completely faulty, like the rest of this team that until now was pretty cool... but of course, the day there’s a problem, there's no one around!

So I wish you good luck, and I hope you have more success in your efforts!

I thought my friend was the only one with this issue, but apparently not...
For him, it’s been going on for at least two months; he’s been "yelling" at customer service (because at some point you have to stop for a second!!) but nothing works. They don’t know what’s going on, don’t understand, etc. And just like for Light, a new card was "generously" offered to him, but still nothing. Their only gesture... was to stop him from paying his plan every month until it gets sorted out.
All this to say it could go on for a long time, so it’s either you cancel your contract stating that it’s not for this "f***ing" service that you signed it, or you wait a bit longer...
Good luck to everyone!!

Well, I spoke to customer service last week and I'm supposed to receive my new SIM card tomorrow... Just waiting but I don't believe it. Can someone explain to me how to cancel and so on?

Still give it a shot with the SIM card, I have to give credit where it's due, I just received it and 2 hours later everything was back in order, texts, calls, internet... everything is working again.
That said, it’s about time!!!
The biggest criticism is that they are really, really slow, with a phenomenal reaction time...
To avoid any hassle, I’ll wait until the end of my contract and then goodbye Virgin...

Good luck everyone!

PS: the compensation amounts to a month of service that gets wasted... that’s not much when you lose all contacts for 25 days...

I confess... :S
I hope I'm going to receive it tomorrow... Moreover, I really need it for my resumes and all that stuff... Especially since my contract ends at the beginning of May -_-'

Well, I'm back with good news, I received my card yesterday and everything works fine. But that doesn't change the fact that when my contract ends in early May, I'm leaving Virgin!!
