Hello,

I accidentally installed Registry Reviver.

I uninstalled it, but the pop-up remains when I start the PC.

How can I get rid of it?

Thank you

Configuration: Windows 7

Hello,
I advise you to perform a System Restore, choosing a date before your issue.
This procedure works for Windows 7, Vista, or XP:
https://www.commentcamarche.net/informatique/windows/147-restaurer-windows-avec-les-points-de-restauration/
Google can be your best ally =^-^=

PS: I have other problems if you want to see my questions so I’m even thinking of formatting, even though I have to reinstall everything and that really annoys me.

I see, still do a System Restore because Registry Reviver has a very bad reputation...

And remove your links to your blog in your signature, advertising is strictly prohibited in this forum (risk of total deletion of your messages) ^^

For your other issues, I recommend creating a new discussion in the Virus/Security forum. I don't have the skills to help you.
This time, directly include a ZHPDiag report. I've copied and pasted the procedure to follow:

Download ZHPDiag (by Nicolas Coolman).
https://www.zebulon.fr/telechargements/securite/systeme/zhpdiag.html

(diagnostic tool)

Double-click the installation file, then install it with the default settings (Don't forget to check "Create a desktop icon")

Launch ZHPDiag by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (Right-click -> Run as Admin (Vista)

Click on the magnifying glass at the top left, then let the tool scan.

Once the scan is complete, click on the floppy disk icon and save the file to your desktop.

Go to Cjoint: http://www.cijoint.fr/

Click on "Browse" in the "Attach a file[...]" section

Select the ZHPdiag.txt report located on your desktop

Then click on "Click here to upload the file" and copy/paste the link in your next message

With a bit of luck, a security contributor will come to help you.

Thank you.

I have a desktop PC (with 7) and the pop-up appears very slightly after the desktop shows up.
BUT I also have another problem. I had asked the following question without a response:

I have a problem because a pop-up says:

An error has occurred in the program. Try to open it again.
If this problem continues you will need to reinstall Microsoft Securities Client

Error code: 0x8007064e

I can do the restore for registry reviver, see if I had kept a point, but for the other problem, it's too late, because I hadn't prepared a restore point...

The error 0x8007064e concerns MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials => Microsoft Securities Client)
which blocks its automatic launch
look by clicking on the Windows logo at the bottom left
and in the search window....., type msconfig and press enter
in the "Startup" tab, check if the startup item "msseces" is not disabled (regarding Microsoft Securities Client)

<<<An error has occurred in the program. Try opening it again.
If this problem persists, you will need to reinstall the Microsoft client...... ......
Error code: 0x8007064e >>>

search for the file "MRT.EXE" (usually in the Windows directory)
right-click on it, and select "Run as..."
and you will report the result
you can also download it
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/fr-fr/details.aspx?FamilyID=ad724ae0-e72d-4f54-9ab3-75b8eb148356

then you will run ZHPdiag, as recommended
it will tell you more

Thank you.

For the first point:

MSE was checked

for the second in quick analysis:

zero infected files

To load the recommended folder, I went to microsoft.com,
I downloaded it, but when I tried to open it, it didn't look like a folder; there were only small things inside. nothing installed: I'm afraid I'm not being clear... :-(

PS to be sure: for now my restoration request is stuck (oh yes). But if needed, can I choose an older date, like January 2nd?

Thank you

Did you launch it in safe mode?
If so, try with a different date, indeed.

Thank you

Well, that's it: I did a restoration to the furthest point I could go: on 01/31/2011 and it worked: no more Registry Reviver.

But since the desktop wasn't coming back, I was afraid I had lost everything. As for my photos, they automatically go to Picasa, but the idea of having to reinstall everything else really annoyed me.

I'm going to try the analysis with ZHPDiag, we'll see.

Thank you

To display the icons on the "Desktop", press "Alt + Ctrl + Del", go to the "Applications" tab, select "New Task", type "explorer.exe" and confirm.

Thank you.

I just sent the report to a potential contributor, as krazycat calls it ;-) We shall see.

In fact, you won't believe what has disappeared now: the small windows of 7 at the bottom and the tab bar (or open pages?) at the top. This story is like a real hurdle race or maybe an obstacle course. We shall see.

P.S.: For the blogs, I didn't include the http, what do you think? I'm tempted to ask...

See you later.

Ok, I'm going to follow your new discussion ;-)

Whether with or without http, it's still advertising. Don't insist, especially since you have the right to put your favorite website in your profile ;-)
Add it here and remove it from your signature:

Good luck

Hi,

I changed the signature on my account but the old one keeps reappearing!

As for the rest, I ended up reinstalling, it was very easy even for a non-technical person like me... ;-)

Thanks again

Hello,

We recently came across this announcement and I wanted to make an official comment here.

Uninstalling our product should be very simple, as you can easily use the uninstall option in the program files or through the Windows control panel.

The only reason it wouldn't work is if the program was not installed correctly on the computer or if the user does not have sufficient privileges to install/uninstall programs.

We also have the following guide to assist users with the uninstallation procedure:
