Canon Pixma MP240 issue

Hello,

a few days ago I refilled my black ink cartridge. Since then, I haven't been able to print with my printer; I have a P8 error on the printer and a window opens with a 5200 error telling me to turn off my printer and try again. But nothing works. I'm reaching out to you for a possible solution to this problem :/
Thank you in advance

    Hello Steaker59,

This is a print head overheating issue.

If letting the printer rest for a while doesn't solve the problem, then the print head is defective.

    Good luck,

      Hello,
the P8 error is indeed a print head error. However, on the MP240, the print heads are included in the cartridges. This error is common after ink refilling... if you can't reset the memory that says your cartridge is defective (I don't know if it's on the printer or the cartridge), the only solution left is to replace the cartridges! (in this case, it's likely the black one, but the problem can also occur with a color cartridge that we never use, which gradually empties during automatic cleanings)

A paper jam that blocked the carriage during movement can also cause this problem; a simple disassembly and reassembly of the two cartridges may suffice... (Otherwise: replacement: Canon loves to make you buy new cartridges...)
