Checkbox size word

Hello,

I have a quick question.
I know how to create checkboxes, but I'm having an issue. I need to redo a Word document that was created with the classic checkboxes that require a right click to indicate that the box should be checked, then click OK and move on to the next one, knowing that there are about a hundred to do. The goal is to put in real checkboxes that only require a simple mouse click.

However, I can't figure out how to resize the checkbox while keeping the label visible. When I reduce the size, the text gets misaligned and moves down compared to the box.

How can I make the text stay at the same height as the box?
Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6.12

Is it for an investigation? If so, focus on online documents.

Hello

Indeed, it is actually a kind of text box that causes the text not to be aligned on the line.

I see two solutions:

1) Add wrapping to your checkbox: right-click on it, format control => wrapping
then you can move it with the mouse

2) Lower the position of the checkbox by a few points: select the checkbox, then go to Format menu, Font, "Character Spacing" tab.
Position on the line: Lower offset. 6 pt should do the trick.

In my opinion, the second solution is preferable.

So in fact we can't touch the checkbox code to solve this issue because, as you can see in my file, if you reduce the box, the text disappears as the size decreases.
Well, I will deal with the ugly boxes and it's a shame because if I could have fixed this issue of misaligned text that disappears, it would have been useful for something else.

Thank you.

Hello,

No, we can't code for that. But I don't understand why you absolutely want to put a text (caption) for these checkboxes. Since these checkboxes are presumably located within the text of the document, you can place the checkbox text as text next to it rather than as a Caption property.

I prefer to use the small ones where you place the text instead of the gray ones. Plus, with the small ones containing the text, if you click on the text it checks the box, so it's more user-friendly than trying to hit the box exactly.

You didn't understand what I said.
I meant that you can use ActiveX Checkbox controls without text (leave the Caption property empty). And you add the text next to it, but not in the checkbox. This way you can reduce the size of your checkbox, and the text will remain visible.

Hello,

Which checkboxes require a right-click??

If they are Form checkbox options, you just need to lock the document for the checkboxes to work with a simple click.

Otherwise, we can hardly help you without knowing what version of Word you are using and what type of checkbox you are using.

Oh yes, okay, I just tried protecting the document and indeed the boxes can be checked without double-clicking or right-clicking. Good to know. However, they are less pretty than the ones I want to use ^^

the question is not resolved, I was asking how to align the checkbox text with the box when it is reduced.
you answered about clicking the simple boxes without addressing my actual question
