Hello,
Christmas is coming soon and I would like an Xbox 360 250 GB. The main interest of this console is to play games like Fable, Assassin's Creed, Halo, Call of Duty... but these games are rated 16+ and I'm only 14. I know I won't be shocked because I've already played them at friends' houses. Because of a TV ad, my parents and sister refuse to let me buy these video games. What arguments can I use? How can I convince them?
Thank you in advance for your response.

Always more! He’s not going to run away just because his parents aren't buying him video games; that’s just pathetic... Don't do that; they’re going to think you’re spoiled, and it will be worse! Tell them it's not advisable, just because there are rules, and as soon as there's a drop of blood, that's it, it's -16. You don't want to play My Little Pony or something!

Yes, but they have to include exaggerated stuff for the ratings. Like when it has a bit of fighting, it's rated for under 12s. But as soon as it's assault games, they have to rate it higher! Harry Potter is rated 12, and it's much less violent than Call of Duty... So since there's no 14 rating, they put it at 16. It's very significant. Plus, a video game is way less intense than a movie!

Tell them that you have to play while you're a teenager, after that you don't have the time...

Others will tell you that if PEGI symbols are in place, there is a reason and they will be right. I would suggest you perhaps play with words. The PEGI logos are more of a "Not recommended for under 16s," not banned.

You just have to say that you’ve already played it, that the -16 rating is only significant because it can shock some people since it can be violent, but many people buy it even if they are not 16 years old.

You just have to show videos of games rated -16 on the computer, of course show the least violent ones and they'll tell you afterwards if they think it's too violent or not...

As for me, I would say they ban it because some games can be "violent" or because there is a bit of blood, but I think that for a difference of about 2-3 years it's not a big deal. I've already come across very young kids playing games rated 18+, like Call of Duty MW2 or Battlefield 2^^ but still...
