Hello,

I would like to solder together the wires of two USB cables. I know the color codes of the wires approximately, that is to say:
1. Red: +5V
2. White: Data -
3. Green: Data +
4. Black: GND
but my problem is the second cable does not follow this standard, so it has different colors and I don't know how to connect them. The colors are as follows:

red
yellow
blue
brown

Thank you for enlightening me on how to connect these two cables.

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.6.3

You take a multimeter and check which connector each wire is connected to.

USB2 is high-speed, so you need to make nice solder joints (not all burned up)

Be careful about how you want to use your cable... (like linking 2 computers together, that won't work)
