Hello,

I have a PENTAX K200 that has power issues: even with new batteries, it indicates that they are discharged.
Thank you for the responses

Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 7.0

    Hello
You mean batteries, not rechargeable ones?
Are you referring to alkaline batteries?

(without an answer: saline batteries generally cannot provide the necessary intensity to simply start a large DSLR).

Yes, alkaline batteries as well as the rechargeable ones that I usually use with this device.

If you have tried both without success, I don't know. I would say there is probably a malfunction.
If your batteries or rechargeable batteries are heating up: STOP, be careful!

see the contacts on the device background as well as on the "cover" of the batteries, they may be dirty or oxidized

No overheating, but certainly a contact problem. I will contact a Pentax dealer, thank you.

It's not necessarily required to see a service center, I do it this way: you wrap the end of a cotton swab with 400 grit abrasive (400 = very very fine, otherwise you will damage the contacts) and give a little swipe on the contacts of the camera as well as those of the battery.
