Firefox is no longer saving passwords

Hello,

First, I want to clarify that I have researched on CCM to solve my problem, but the diagnostics and responses provided do not match my situation.

As stated in the title, Firefox no longer saves passwords: when entering a username/password, the option bar does appear at the top of the window, but the "Remember" button has no effect (clicking on it does not close the window). "Not for this site" properly saves the URL in the list of sites for which the password is not saved. "Later" correctly closes the option bar.

Another symptom, probably necessarily linked: Firefox also does not retrieve the usernames and passwords it had saved.

I am not sure when this problem started, maybe with the installation of 3.6.10, and I am considering reinstalling it, or even doing a fresh install with a new profile.

I also recently had a loading certificate issue with my bank, which finally appeared after several days (and even though they had revoked it...), I do not know if it is related...)

What can you advise me?

Thank you in advance for your insights.

V.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6.10

Yes, it's best to reinstall Firefox.
Before that, I advise you to backup your bookmarks and saved passwords.
This is the folder:
C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxx.default

(XXX: your username)

The list of saved passwords is empty, so it will be quickly seen! (and it's somewhat consistent with the behavior observed). As for the favorites (and certificates), I had indeed thought about that.

Thank you.
