Hello,

I have a laptop whose internal hard drive has been placed in an enclosure and is now functioning as an external hard drive due to motherboard malfunction.

I am looking for my passwords that Mozilla Firefox has saved.

Can someone inform me about the path to access them?

I found the Mozilla Firefox folder (under the "Program Files (x86)" subfolder) but I cannot find any passwords in the following subfolders.

This is a PC that was running on Windows 7.

Thank you for your generous help.

DZ.

Configuration: Windows / Mozilla 11.0

Hello,

The files are not stored in c:\programfiles, but in
C:\Users\<your_account>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxx

You could retrieve the whole folder, so you have bookmarks, extensions, passwords...

If you manage to find the folder, I can guide you on how to create a new profile with this directory.

Best regards

Hello Jee pee

I found the path you mentioned leading to the "Profiles" folder, and then I have 3 folders
> 0ljt8y1w.default
>> 1ip7ze5g.default-1374612202261
>>> s56e95ln.default-1371922969358

I opened them and quickly browsed through but couldn't find the "password" folder.

If you have the rest of the path, don't hesitate to share it.

Thank you for your diligence and help

Best regards.

DZ

There is no password file. They are stored in a profile folder and are most likely encrypted and unreadable.

For example, bookmarks are in places.sqlite.

That's why I suggested you retrieve the entire profile folder to create a profile with that environment on your PC.

Out of your 3 folders, if you only used one profile, the right one should be the one with the most recent files, and the date should correspond to when you stopped using that disk.
