Hello,
Following the setup of the incoming and outgoing servers for my mageos account in Outlook Express, I can receive messages in Outlook but cannot send any.
You will find below the error message that appears when attempting to send messages.
If anyone has encountered this problem before, please help me resolve it.
Best regards
Axelle
Connection to the server failed. Account: 'pop.neuf.fr', Server: 'smtp.neuf.fr', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure (SSL): No, Socket error: 10060, Error number: 0x800CCC0E

Hello everyone, could you please help me? I'm not an IT pro, I play games online and when I receive messages I click on the links to access the sites and nothing happens, whereas before it worked. What should I do to make it work like it did before? Thank you in advance for your responses.
As far as I'm concerned, I simply changed the server's expiration time because it was set to minimum, I set it to 1 minute and my email was sent. I should note that I had never had a problem, but this message was intended for Madagascar, and even though the server is Orange, I think it takes longer.
The same problem appeared for me the day I switched from a traditional modem to ADSL (Wanadoo is my new provider). I searched everywhere and couldn't find a solution. My Outlook and Mageos (Le Neuf) settings are correct, and it doesn't change anything.
If I reconnect with my traditional modem, my emails go out without any problem.
I therefore opted for a new email address (at Yahoo) and everything works very well.
But I'm still curious to know the reason for this bug...

What happens is that the access provider checks that we are indeed connected to them in order to send messages...
I had the same problem with mageos, with tiscali...
So if you want to send emails with mageos, you have to connect with mageos, otherwise you will only be able to receive them.
But not all access providers do this.

Same problem today but with Wanadoo (mailbox) and Neuf (ISP)
Is this normal? Because I also have this message:

Hello,
I just spent over an hour helping a client with a problem; she had the same error, and indeed, for some time now, Free has decided to "throttle" SMTP.
So you need to configure your Freebox for SMTP (since I’m not with Free, I have no idea where to go in the settings), or you can call Free who will be happy to help you ;)
That’s it! See you soon!

Hello,
if you have just changed your ISP, just go to the settings and change the outgoing SMTP server to NouveauFAI.fr
here is the list of servers:
POP and SMTP servers of the main ISPs
that's all you have to do. You don't touch the address or the password.
good luck

I have been struggling with this for months. While looking in the advanced settings of another account that is not part of my usual server, I saw that the server port number was 587 instead of 25. So, I replaced one with the other and bingo! It works.
Hello everyone,
If you have this problem, there is a VERY HIGH chance that it's the provider restricting access to external mail servers.
This is quite new and VERY annoying! (9 cegetel, France Telecom)
Technically, emails are sent via port 25, and providers ensure that only their server's port 25 is accessible. So as soon as we want to send our emails from another server .... IT DOESN'T WORK!!!
SOLUTION: Connect via SSL to the remote server if it supports it. Otherwise, ask the administrator of the remote server to make another port available. (26 or another)
There you go!!!!

I don't know if my experience can help you;
as an AOL subscriber, I have a Neuf Box at home and I can connect to my inbox without any problem and send messages.
I recently connected to the internet via a Neuf hotspot and there I couldn’t send messages (receiving emails is fine) with error message 10060 error number 0x800CCC0E.
Apparently, the outgoing mail depends on the box that is connected (in this case the hotspot is probably a Neuf subscriber) so I changed the outgoing settings in my account from SMTP.FR.AOL.COM and advanced SMTP 587 to SMTP.NEUF.FR and advanced 25 and it worked.
Of course, I will have to revert to my initial settings when I return home...
I hope this can be helpful to you...

I specified the SMTP of my address in the outgoing mail, namely smtp.neuf.fr (mageos = neuf) instead of the AOL SMTP, I checked my server requires authentication, I left the port at 25 and apparently the messages are being sent!
Best regards
Phil
like you, I have the same error message that appears as soon as I try to send a message.
If you have resolved the issue, I would appreciate it if you could pass along the tip.
As for me, I'm looking into it on my end; thank you in advance.
I indicated the outgoing SMTP mail server for my address, which is smpt.neuf.fr (mageos=neuf) instead of the AOL SMTP
I checked my server requires authentication, I left the port at 25 and apparently the messages are being sent
this is what they wrote to me, try it and you will see it works goodbye
