Hello,

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6.8
My daughter has been experiencing the following problem recently: even though the "print to file" option is not checked in "print" (file-print-print), everything happens as if this option were checked.
The document is not printing, but is being saved instead.
How can we get out of this deadlock?

I’m replying 4 years later, but I just encountered the same issue and managed to get out of the deadlock, so if my answer can help someone who is consulting this forum... great!

Just like j2zem, when I wanted to print a document of any kind, it would save instead of printing. Yet everything seemed okay at first glance! No virtual printer was selected, and the "print to file" option that appears in the main dialog box was not checked... I still dug around and opened the "advanced options" dialog box, and in that box, there’s the possibility to select "print to file" again! And there it was, the option was enabled... So I unchecked it, and everything started working fine!! There you go, it's simple, but one has to know it...!!!
