'Hi,
I have a 512 MB RAM stick on my laptop that is working very poorly and causing blue screens and other freezes. Is it possible to repair or reset it? And if so, with which utility...
Thank you in advance for your responses...

Hi everyone
I was recently told that a method that often works to fix RAM is to clean the connector (the part that plugs into the slot of the computer) with an eraser.
So I rushed to test it on the defective RAM I have at home and...
It worked!!!
I recommend using a RAM testing software before and after to see if it worked or not.
It's not a very scientific method, but we have nothing to lose by trying it, and besides, it seems to work great!
You can try the same thing with graphics cards and other peripherals whose connectors might get dirty over time.
Have a good day!

Sad but if it's the stick that causes the failure, there's nothing to do but buy another RAM.
If it's a complete failure, it's probably dead: it's for the trash.
If it's an intermittent failure, it might work miraculously in another older PC.

Hello, I advise you first to test your RAM with "memtest x86" available here ==> http://www.memtest.org/#downiso download the iso.zip version, extract the content, burn the iso image onto a CD, then put it in the drive, boot from the CD and wait. If any red lines appear during the scan, then the RAM is faulty. Good luck, bye.
Hi everyone,
On a laptop, the RAM was acting up without actually failing.
I booted with memtest86... Defective...
Disassembled, cleaned the sticks with alcohol (methanol), and then put it all back together but switched them around.
No more issues and it's been running for over a year... Just thought it might help you..

Hello everyone,
well here it is, I'm not really sure if my RAM sticks are messed up, so to avoid unnecessarily opening a new post, I’m going to do it here.
Here's my problem, for the past few weeks, I haven't been able to play properly to Star Wars Galaxies, which is my MMO; I don't have any others installed. It crashes whenever it wants, and I have absolutely no issues under Windows, except in games.
Several errors appear in rotation
- win32k.sys
- ctaud2k.sys
- irql_not_less_or_equal
- page_fault_in_nonpaged_area
- nv4_disp.dll
- nv_agp.sys
So I've done some digging on forums and found a loopfix for the nv4
but for the rest, they say it might be related to the RAM, so I tried with 2x512 dual memory, I swapped with a third identical stick, same problem. I figure it's the dual setup that must be buggy, so I put all three in, still the same problem.
AMD Athlon XP 1200MHz (6x200)
MSI K7N2 Delta-L (MS-6570G)
NVIDIA Nforce2 Ultra 400
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT 256
1536MB DDR SDRAM
So I read earlier that RAM can't be repaired, but can we imagine wiping everything inside in the hope that it’s a bug in writing or reading the content of one of the sticks?

BROKEN RAM = THE TRASH !!!!!!!! otherwise, you have to be a RAM manufacturer lol
