Hello,
Recently, we had a lot of people at home and between setting up new devices and making photocopies, my printer didn't appreciate it and started glitching, meaning it keeps turning on and off in a loop.
We managed to get it working somehow, but today when I turned it on, I noticed it still had the same problem.
So it’s a Photosmart C5180 all-in-one printer, when I press the power button it immediately glitches, the computer doesn’t even have time to recognize it and it goes offline, but anyway, it’s barely on.
I don’t know if what I’m telling you is clear, basically it doesn’t turn on or off, it glitches in a loop.
I’ve already checked all the connections several times, it’s connected via USB cable (no wifi), it’s a “home use” printer.
I don’t know what to do... if you could help me
I’m available if you need more details
thank you very much in advance
Céline
Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 7.0

Try turning on the printer when the computer is off; this type of printer can work as a photocopier without a computer.
If it works, then you need to uninstall and reinstall or update the printer driver on the computer.
If it doesn't work (the printer also crashes when the computer is off), check if there is a 'reset' button. If the issue persists, it needs to be taken for repair (it may still be under warranty).
To update the driver, go to the HP website:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=1153481
Click on 'Driver (2)'.
Download and install the first driver (base version) from the list.
See if it works better.
