Delete the last page after section break

I believe that's exactly the reason he wants to remove it.
Normally, landscape format is canceled when you delete your last section break, but if you re-enable your landscape option, the last page will reorient without affecting the previous pages.

Yes,
it seems normal to me since by default, Word works on an A4 page. So you set up your layout with a paper size of 21*29.7.
It's true that if you then change the paper format, nothing will match anymore.

I don't know of any function that does a kind of zoom to adjust the layout to an A3 sheet when it has been made for A4. But who knows, others besides me might be able to help you.

One thing to know: A section break contains all the formatting of the previous section, including, among other things, the paper size, headers, and footers, etc.

So, indeed, if you delete the section break, you lose the formatting that precedes it...
This has nothing to do with the default format.

This section break has become unnecessary, and especially annoying! :D
And unfortunately, Word being very stubborn on this matter, I doubt you can replace your current section break with a continuous section break.

If, as I think, it resists, for the total number of pages issue, you just need to subtract 1:

{={NUMPAGES} - 1}
The {} can be obtained with Ctrl+F9.
