page numbering issues with Word Solved/Closed

Question

Hi everyone!

Here it is, I'm working on a report in Word and I'm having a problem with the page numbering.
At first everything was working fine but now, all the pages are numbered zero and the number at the bottom left of the window indicating the active page number also shows zero no matter which page it is!

I’ve tried everything I could but nothing works and I'm quite stuck. I hope some of you have faced this issue before and can help me out.

In fact, if you ever don't have page numbers but instead only the name PAGES, just press ALT + F9. Everything should return to normal; please don't touch your Word preferences. Franck DAVID

I think you installed this numbering through the header/footer function. Try removing this header or footer, save your file, close it and then reopen it, and then reinstall your numbering. There's a chance it might work again.
Otherwise, try selecting all your text and do a copy/paste onto a new page that you will have opened.
There you go, for now those are the only 2 "tricks" I can advise you.

Hello! This is a bug reported by Microsoft! It is caused by the insertion of objects in tables in headers (or footers). The problem is fixed with the installation of SP3. Good luck!

Hello,

I had the same numbering issue. It seems that the numbering does not recognize "next page section breaks." I replaced all my section breaks with manual page breaks, and the numbering worked again.

I am Vista, unfortunately, and your solutions for numbering pages (Word 2007) do not help me at all. No matter what I do, the page number is repeated on all pages.
What should I do?

Salut tout le monde, bon, voilà, aujourd'hui j'ai appris un truc qui pourra vous être utile. Ce n'est pas que je connais mieux que vous, mais je l'ai appris tout seul et j'aime que tout le monde se bénéficie de mon expérience. Et encore, pardon pour mon français parce que je suis algérien, au cas où vous trouvez plein de fautes.
Pour les gens qui ont eu un problème avec la numérotation des pages sur Word 2007, le problème d'ajouter un numéro dans (un numéro de page==>bas de page==>....) quand vous avez essayé de personnaliser les numéros et que vous avez eu le problème connu du même numéro pour toutes les pages, eh bien la solution est très simple : il suffit juste de COCHER PAGE PAIRE ET IMPAIRES DIFFÉRENTES
Après, vous pourrez personnaliser votre page et la numéroter comme vous voulez.
