Hello,
here it is, my PS3 had a big bug so I had no choice but to format the HDD with my PC. I formatted my original 120 GB hard drive to FAT32 and when I put it in the PS3, it asks me to reinstall the firmware.
Up to here it’s like everyone.
The problem is that it says it’s preparing the installation and that it will restart, and it restarts on the home screen where it wants a new firmware.
in case I forgot any details, I found an old post that had the same issue but it wasn’t resolved:

Thanks for your responses

it still doesn't work but I wonder, if I put my hard drive in a friend's PS3, would his console format my disk right?
I feel like it's my last hope... unless someone has an idea-
Your friend is supposed to create a backup utility of the backup and give you his internal hard drive, and you plug it into your PS3 and go to System Settings, choose Backup Utility -- Backup -- and you plug in your internal hard drive; it will work when you do this. I’ll give you the next steps on how to install the system, it depends on your PS3 whether it is jailbroken or not.
