IncrediMail won't send my messages anymore

Good evening everyone,

This time I need help with sending my messages in Incredimail. When I try to reply, a dialogue box appears:

A message could not be sent. This message is still in your outbox, please correct it and try again.
554 <adresse@e-mail>: Relay access denied

Yesterday I tried to reinstall Incredimail, the system offered me a repair, it worked, and I was able to send messages all evening. But today, when I wanted to reply to an email (by adding a wallpaper as a background, I think that's what it didn't like, even though it worked for over a year before my move), I have the same problem again. Even after repairing, it still doesn't work. Help, please ;)

I have already tried re-entering all my information and reinstalling everything, but it still crashes... Any other ideas?

Hello,
I don't quite understand your problem, have you tried in "tool" +
"account" + "property" + "server" and check that your incoming and outgoing mail settings are filled in? Then below, your email address.

Hello,

Yes yes, pop for incoming, smtp for outgoing, then my email address and my password (I receive my messages well, but I can't send any).

Any other ideas? Help... ;)

Hi

Well, I know that if I receive an email from my provider and I reply to it, it definitely won't work anymore, so I reinstall everything and everything goes back to normal. To respond to them, I use their website and there's no more problem. What kind of firewall do you have?

I tried to reinstall one more time, but this time, I can't even open new messages; the error message is:

=> only choice OK

I had this problem, for me it was DAP (Download Accelerator Plus) that wasn't working with IncrediMail, once I uninstalled DAP, everything was fine.

Tell me, how long have you had Incredimail?
You are on Windows XP, so you must have automatic updates if you haven't changed anything, do you remember SP2? Maybe that’s when your problem started, and for the Firewall, if you don’t have another one, it’s the one from Windows. Tell me a bit more please.

I’m on XP, I have a 9télécom subscription (if that helps). I haven’t changed anything, at least I don’t think so regarding automatic updates. I’ve been using Incredimail for nearly 2 years, I believe.

How can I check my Firewall (at least to know what Firewall I have)? And what is SP2?
I’m a bit of a novice with advanced computer functions, all I know and can certify is that this problem messes up my browsing since I have to open Wanadoo via the internet, then my email, and do a whole bunch of copy-pasting to reply to my messages or send new ones...

To find out what pack you're on, right-click on 'My Computer' and you'll see Pack 1 or Pack 2. You know, it happened to me too; I uninstalled it out of frustration, and after waiting 15 days, it started working again. Since then, no problems, except when I reply to my provider, which is Tiscali. Now I know, but you see, using paper other than that of Incredimail, yes, that happened to me too. Now that I reread your first message, I no longer do that; I only use the one from Incredimail. Have you created another account? Go to Tools and then Accounts, delete the one you have, and create a new one.

If I uninstall, I'm going to lose all my contacts and archived messages, right?

I right-clicked on My Computer, I have Service Pack 1 version 2002... if that helps you...

I tried deleting and adding my account again, same problem. The strangest thing is that I can send emails to myself, if I send from my inbox to my inbox, it works, but otherwise (if I send to anyone else), it doesn't.

Help, I'm going to go crazy ;)

Is Incredimail the default?

I'm also on SP1 but I installed Zone Alarm as a firewall, more reliable.
Have you ever clicked on "Send and receive all" when you send a message?

Yes, in principle I send everything and receive everything, I have the error message at the end of the last message and then it automatically receives my messages and now it works.

In principle, Incredimail should be my default inbox.

I'll try to do as you told me: uninstall and reinstall. Fingers crossed...

I am in the process of trying to back up my IncrediMail data; under my desk, I clicked File - Transfer data and settings - Transfer to new computer, and then, for my contacts, I clicked File - Export - Contacts.
I hope I won't lose too much data...

I will come back as soon as I have done that.

Missed it... when IncrediMail opened, I had my inbox exactly as it was before I deleted it...
I'm starting over by deleting the shortcuts as well.

No, I don’t understand... I thought I had uninstalled everything, but when Incredimail opened, my inbox still appears exactly as it was before deletion.

I did delete it as you told me, from the control panel, add/remove programs, and then I deleted the shortcut that remained in my inbox. Do you think I forgot something, to delete an icon somewhere? Any ideas?

I'm starting to get seriously desperate.

Well, I took the plunge and opened Outlook Express 6 to see if I could send an email, same problem when sending, here is the complete message:

Subject 'Test from Outlook', Account: 'Wanadoo Mail', Server: 'smtp.wanadoo.fr', Protocol: SMTP, Server response: '554 <epf.goethals@free.fr>: Relay access denied', Port: 25, Secure (SSL): No, Server error: 554, Error number: 0x800CCC79

Could someone shed some light on this?

Reinstall Incredimail as I explained to you earlier, and wait about fifteen days before reinstalling it. You will definitely lose your directory, but at worst you can put everything in your operator's email, that's what I would do. But maybe someone will have a solution to suggest to you. Have you allowed your main email box to forward your messages to Incredimail?

The strangest thing is that everything was working fine before (I was sending and receiving without any problems), but I don't know what happened. If no one else has any advice, I will uninstall and reinstall IncrediMail in about 15 days as you suggested...

I just realized that I have the same problem and the same error message in Outlook (6). Should I also uninstall Outlook (that could be more problematic, I don't know how to copy my inbox)?

Hello Emmie

No, I don't recommend that you eliminate Outlook; keep it on hold and don't touch it anymore. I still have it, and since Incredimail is set as the default, Outlook doesn't come up.

Well, that's a bust: I reinstalled IncrediMail, and it's as if I never uninstalled it: my emails, my folders, everything is there as if I never did anything. And as a result, still no possibility to send my emails.

Any other ideas? They will all be more than welcome: I'm getting desperate...

You say I never squizzed it, what do you mean? Did you delete it properly from Program Files, empty your recycle bin, and go to search, type Incredimail, and remove all Incredimail? It worked well for me, but maybe it's something else.

Luckily, you’re here to try to help me. Indeed, when I reinstalled Incredimail, I had all my directories, as if I had never deleted it... but it's true, you’re right: I deleted it through add/remove programs, but I hadn’t thought about Program Files... so it stayed there all this time... what an idiot I can be at times... Well, here I go, I’ll copy my folders tomorrow and try to delete everything properly. I’ll get back to you (on the forum) to let you know where things stand in about ten days...

Okay, but don't forget to empty your trash and start the search; you type IncrediMail and search in all folders, you delete IncrediMail when it's finished and empty your trash, and wait your 15 days. Finally, for me it worked, but I don’t know about you.
