Hello everyone, let me explain my problem. My girlfriend moved to Martinique for work. Since then, I've been blowing through my phone plan because I’m a bit annoyed about using phone cards.
Recently, I saw a website online (http://www.telefute.com) that promised very favorable rates. I want to try it out, but I’m not too confident since I have to call directly from my landline.
So I would like to know if anyone is familiar with this site/technology and what they think about it.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I have been using Téléfuté for almost two years and I am really satisfied.
The downside of Skype is that you need to be behind your PC, which is quite inconvenient.

I use Téléfuté to talk to my girlfriend who is in Réunion, and I pay the same price as if I were calling Paris, and it's very simple.

Sometimes I use another service that is even simpler called Simplicitel, which allows me to call cheaper when a destination is more expensive on Téléfuté.

Hello, I sent 2 texts to a mobile in the Czech Republic and Romania, I also tried to call without success. I also sent myself a text to my phone just to see. Nothing. So I called without going through Telefu and I reached my contact!!!! I ended up paying for nothing. And it's impossible to send them an email... In my opinion, they're making money by not connecting all the calls and since it's charged before we reach our contact!!!! I got scammed.

I had exactly the same misadventures as Reesal with Téléfuté, and like an idiot, instead of understanding right away, I "recidivated." In total: I paid for "communications" that I didn't have!!! Only to end up calling at a high price using the regular line. Is there not a place where consumers can denounce and pursue this kind of scam??

Hello,
if she has a computer over there, use skype! It's free and unlimited between Skype users.

Creating a Skype account is free.

Ok, well then frankly, in terms of cost we need to consider between:

- Buying an eeePC (300 euros) and installing Skype on it, with a line opened to get internet at her place in Martinique. The calls between you will then be unlimited.

or,

- Getting a plan each month (I don't know the costs, but even for a plan of 30 euros/month, we're at the price of the eeePC over a year with unlimited calls via Skype, and on top of that we would have a computer!)

Thank you Dyllan for your response. But by the way, I had forgotten to mention that she didn't have internet at home and that a private conversation at the cyber café isn't exactly glamorous...
