Hello,
Since I cleaned my registry with jv16 Power Polls and Regseeker, every time I start Windows, I get a message indicating that Tray app is loading. An icon in this message shows a disk.
What is it about and how can I remedy this issue?
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me.
Best regards

Hello,
I've just realized that this problem has already been extensively debated on: http://www.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-1218017-TRAYAPP-msi ... for over 4 months!
It's a bit confusing, but the summarized solution is: uninstall and reinstall your printer!
... I didn't bother to understand.

Hello
The optimization software like those used for registry cleaning has a "backup" restoration option; look for it and try to restore to the date of your last cleanup.

Hello,
First of all, thank you for your help.
I did what you told me. But this "TrayApp" is not found in msconfig.
It's Windows that tells me to wait in English while "Trayapp is loading." It seems to be related to a CD drive since the logo that accompanies the loading indicates a CD.
I don't know what it is.
Do you have any other ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards.

Indeed, it especially concerns HP printers. And is your printer not an HP?
Do you have another device from this brand? (like a burner, for example)
The discussion
http://www.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-1253006-qu-est-ce-TrayApp does indeed raise issues related to everything HP, but it ended abruptly.
On the other hand, this discussion:
http://www.infos-du-net.com/forum/37835-7-tray-app talks about printers without specifying the brand, which doesn't mean it's not HP.
When you open RegCleaner, you have a list of programs. Have you checked that there is nothing related to Tray App?
I'm sorry I can't provide you with a ready-made solution, but it really seems to be a tricky thing.

1 - Uninstall your burner.
2 - Restart to check that the Tray app message has disappeared.
3 - Reinstall your burner, whether the Tray app has disappeared or not.
4 - If the Tray app has disappeared, restart to check that the message does not reappear.
5 - Keep me updated.
What may be concerning is that your PC is also a HP, so it might be the source of the problem. If the Tray app does not disappear or comes back, you will need to consider reinstalling Win XP.

Hi,
Well, it was my Canon printer!....
I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it. Tray app doesn't bother me anymore.
However, it's Windows that's telling me a new device is installed; I give it the printer path (LPT1) but it doesn't understand. Every time I restart, it notifies me that a new device is installed.

Hello,
Is your printer working normally?
Have you tried ignoring the installation request?
Talk to you later.

Hello,
I have had this kind of problem before. It was with a modem.
I didn't find a solution, but suddenly it disappeared without me doing anything, at least nothing intentional.
One thing to try though:
Control Panel => Printers. Right-click on the Canon printer icon ... => Properties => Details tab. Click on the Capture Printer Port button: "Reconnect at startup" should be unchecked.

Until property I follow you, but I don't have a "details" tab, can you give me some clarifications?
Thank you in advance

Ouch! I gave you the procedure for Windows 98 because that's what I have on my PC, and I thought it would be the same for XP.
Let's meet in 2 or 3 days. In the meantime, I will have had the chance to see how it looks on XP. Unless in the meantime you find it yourself by showing everything in Properties.
See you later.

Hello,
Yes, I still have the same problem.
But on top of that, I have a second one.
I wanted to uninstall Diskeeper (a defragmenter) because I thought it might be the cause.
Now I'm left without a defragmenter, because the Windows one won't open, an error message appears.
I can't reinstall Diskeeper either, also getting an error message.
I ran CHKDSK without success.
I can't go back to an earlier restore point.
In short, I'm in trouble.
Thank you for helping me find a solution.
Sincerely
