Hello,

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 6.0.1

Since June, I have updates that do not install.

1) Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538243)

Download size: 4.3 MB

You may need to restart the computer for this update to be installed.

By installing this update provided by Microsoft, you will protect your computer. After the installation is complete, you may need to restart your computer.

The last two work; they indicate they are installed, but they later reappear as updates. The first update (2008) always ends in failure.

Could you help me?

Thank you

Go to Start, then click Computer to open it. Right-click the system hard drive (usually C:), then click Properties. Click Disk Cleanup. Wait a moment, then a list of items to clean will appear: check the box for Service Pack Backup Files and then click OK. Confirm and wait for it to finish. Then redo your updates, but doing them one at a time would be best.

It doesn’t work... I feel like all the updates are going to be blocked from now on... but why? I did the manual installation, nothing changes...

It shows for some of them that the installation is successful, but the updates come back immediately, as if I hadn’t done anything!

Yes, I did everything! But it seems on forums there are a lot of people having issues with the updates for the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable package and 2005....... by the way I tried to install Ad-Aware on the computer last night and it didn’t work, apparently because of these Visual C++ things that don’t want to install, especially the 2008 one since the 2005 one is marked as installed, but the update keeps coming back.... same for the latest Windows 7 security update which is installed in the updates but keeps coming back!!! Nothing to understand.... on the support site, I saw that Microsoft was aware of these recent problems, had put an online solution, a patch, which I downloaded, but it didn’t change anything!!!! and what is the Service Pack 1???? sorry, I’m not very strong in these technical things, but I had never had a problem like this before! Thanks for your help! :)

I have exactly the same problem as the author. I can't perform these updates. And I have tried every possible solution I could find on the net :/

And strangely, if I go to "Control Panel" then "Programs and Features" then "View installed updates" it tells me "No updates are installed on this computer" :/

      Hello,
As soon as the update you are performing stops installing, you stop it, then restart the PC and see if it installs.
Do them afterwards one by one.
