Connecting Two Pairs of Speakers to Your PC Solved

Good evening,

I'm writing this topic quickly to ask you a question that I think will be very simple for you to answer. To get straight to the point, everything is in the title. I have two pairs of speakers and I'd like to be able to connect both pairs to my PC at the same time. I've done some research on everyone's friend, whom I call Google, and the only answer I found is to buy a small jack splitter that would allow me to have two plugs for my speakers. But on my PC, like on almost all PCs, I have an audio port at the back as well as the one in front of my PC (for headphones), and here lies the interest of my question: can I connect both speakers through software or manipulation on my PC using these two ports?

(When I try, only one pair of speakers works.)

We can definitely do it, but the best option is to have the green, blue, and red ports (a real sound card rather than the built-in one).
No conflicts that way and auto-detection.

Hi, I don't think that's possible; you need to buy the amplifier with 2 outputs. But that will divide the power by 2.
What might happen when connecting 2 different pairs of speakers is that you could end up with some sort of echo.
Otherwise, it's better to have a 5.1 speaker system (5 speakers and a subwoofer).

start menu ==> control panel ==> and there you look for an icon or a sound card name.

realtek
srs
etc. etc.

find it and launch it. from there you may be able to set this option or configure your mic jack as an output rather than an input.

I just tried, but I can't find any parameter that would allow me to configure my microphone jack as output instead of input.

Well in that case, you just have to buy a sound card. At least you'll be able to plug in a bunch or even a 5.1. -- Doing research yourself before posting on CCM is the quickest solution!

it would be a bit overkill to change computers just for 2 pairs of speakers that don't work simultaneously, and it wouldn't necessarily solve the problem. I say buy a 5.1 system.

Lol yeah, that's true. But hey, I'm not really looking to do that either. All I wanted is for my pair of speakers not to sit collecting dust in my closet. :) But there must be a way for when I plug one pair of speakers into the back of my PC and another into the headphone jack, both to be detected. :s Maybe a software solution...

Hello again,  yes, buy a sound card. Basically, it's the same audio port you're using, whether it's on the front or the back of the PC. So when one works, it disables the other.  A sound card costs €10 -- doing your own research before posting on CCM is the quickest solution!

In the control panel, do you not have "Realtek HD Audio Manager"?
In there, go to the top right = advanced settings, and check the box for playing both audio streams, the front and the back, at least that's how it works for me :)
