Sound issue - speaker Solved

Question

Hello, I have no sound on my PC anymore. I don't think it's my speakers; it must be a technical issue with the PC. Where can I check if I have sound without speakers?  THANK YOU

I had the same problem:

I went into the properties of my sound controller (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) by going to "Control Panel \ Hardware and Sound" and then selecting "Manage Audio Devices"
In the first tab "General" which is displayed by default, I clicked on "Properties"
I then went to the "Drivers" tab and clicked "Disable" (Disable the selected device) then clicked "Enable"
The speaker sound started working again!

To summarize, try disabling and re-enabling your sound driver.

Hi,  first check the device manager to see if there are any hardware conflicts.  Also, run dxdiag from the Run dialog; this will allow you to perform a diagnostic. -- The druid without the potion.

What should I do for the conflict analysis? If I turn off the computer and turn it back on, the sound works for a while and then stops again. Sometimes it comes back, sometimes it doesn't. I don't know if it's my speakers or the computer, that's what I wanted to check. I think the best thing is to take the speakers to another computer, then I'll see if it's the computer or not, because I have no other way of knowing!

To check for a conflict, you need to verify if there is a yellow exclamation point in front of the sound card in the Device Manager.

To open the Device Manager:

press the Windows key + R simultaneously and then
```
devmgmt.msc
```

I ran ad adware and spyboat, but the problem persists, and I also updated my Norton antivirus, then scanned but found nothing, and I couldn't find anything for an online antivirus scan, it's quite complicated, I used to use ravscan but apparently it's no longer possible to use it!

Hello,
I’m using a laptop and since yesterday afternoon I haven’t had any sound. If I plug in headphones, it works, but without them, nothing works. I checked the speaker devices in the control panel: the volume is at maximum and it’s set to “Stereo sound for laptop”.
I don't know where else to look (I must say I'm not a pro with computers). If you could help me :)

Hi Ilias.
Have you checked that the "mute" box is unchecked? If so, go to "Control Panel," then "Sounds and Devices," and in the "Volume" section go to "Advanced Settings" and make sure the correct option is in place. Otherwise, look around a bit in "Sounds and Devices" (without touching everything). Pay close attention to whether the right boxes are checked or not.
