Hello,
I just bought an HP Deskjet F2480.
The installation went smoothly without any apparent issues.
Printing and copying work perfectly, but I can't seem to scan a document to the computer (in .jpg or other formats) from the printer.
How can I do this?
Thank you for your help.
Have a nice day.

I believe I have the ideal answer! In fact, to scan with HP DESKJET F2480, once the software installation is successfully completed, as this is the most important step, you need to go to HP SOLUTION CENTER, which is an icon that will appear on the screen for those using Windows XP, and then you will click on "home" at the bottom of the page and you will see scan document .............and do what you want. As for those using Vista, I believe you need to go to START, then PROGRAMS, then HP, and you will directly see HP SOLUTION and follow what I explained previously.
I believe you will understand me.

Hello,
we scan from the PC using the scanning program provided by HP and not from the printer, and try to get it into the PC..
from the printer, it is only possible to make copies
see you later

Hello,
After installing the printer driver (CD provided),
- turn on the printer
- go to <my computer="">
- you should see the HP Deskjet F2480 icon
(hovering over it with the mouse should display the message: opens a program that allows you to save images)
- double click on the icon to start the scanning.

Hello
Have you resolved your issue?
This machine has a serious design flaw, in my opinion. There are regular communication breakdowns between the device and the PC, and the scanner never works. I've used 4 different PCs on XP, Vista, and finally Windows 7 after installation; the same problems persist: I have to restart the printer, then turn it off, disconnect the plug for a few moments... and to top it all off, with my latest Windows 7 laptop, the scanner doesn't work at all. HP's customer service is incompetent: they had me reinstall the driver several times, sent me a second printer... still the same problem...
They were ready to send me a third one... I suggested a partial refund in addition to a commercial offer on another model: impossible (it's still under warranty!) They offered me 20% off a new printer that costs 20 to 30% more than on regular online sites! So no compensation and the option to keep my current printer!!
Great, thanks HP.

Great, thanks HP.
I have the same problem: when I open Photosmart, I don't have a "scan" icon, I only have "copy" and "print."
I think I'm going to spread the word about HP to those around me!!!
And pull out my old scanner that still works...

To scan with the HP DESKJET F2400, F2480 or F2483, you need to install or download the HP Photosmart software on your computer.
Then, start the scanning task using the HP Photosmart software.
When you launch the SCAN procedure on HP Photosmart, you will see the IMPORT PHOTOS command; click on IMPORT PHOTO and then on SCAN.
Note: Keep in mind that the HP DESKJET F2400, F2480 or F2483 can only scan using the HP Photosmart software.
