PS3 controller L1 L2 button not working anymore

Hello,
I’ve noticed that pressing the L1 and L2 buttons on the controller no longer works; I feel like there is some resistance when pressing the buttons. What should I do? Is there any risk in opening it? 
Configuration: Windows 7 Firefox 3.6

    OK, thanks for the advice. I'm still going to try to fix it because without L1 L2 in games, it's not fun every day ^^

    Oulala, if there are risks! It might even be riskier than opening a PC. A controller: one little change, even by a centimeter, and your controller is done for. Buy another one for €50. HOWEVER, I don't recommend getting the MadCatz ones you find in Micromania. Sure, they’re cheap, but the buttons are super hard, and I have the so-called rapid fire MW2 controller, which is a scam for €40. Moreover, all MadCatz controllers require a small USB detector. So it’s better to get a DualShock instead, or one online, but check used ones. I have a friend who got stuck because the used controller had the rubber on the analog stick ripped off.
