My PS3 controller is not recognized by my PC.

Hi guys, I would like to connect my PS3 controller (DualShock 3) to my PC to play games. The problem is that my PC does not recognize my controller; when I plug it in, my controller blinks 3 times and then nothing happens, the device doesn't install. I've already tried resetting my controller with the button on the back but it doesn't change anything.
If you have any tips, I'm all ears.
