Hello

I have a connection problem on a server when entering my password.

I get the following message.

"Windows cannot connect to the domain. The domain controller is not working and is unavailable ..........."

This is not due to the password since I have tried several other accounts and I get the same error message.

I am running XP Pro SP2

Thank you in advance
Christophe

Hello,

This is related to the active directory, in the computers section.
Method: log in locally on the concerned machine, remove the machine from the domain.
Once it is removed from the domain, take the machine out of the active directory, so in computers, delete the machine from the list.
Put the machine back into the domain, and it's all set.

Hello Tchorski, honestly, I've been banging my head against the wall for 2 days and tomorrow the agents have to work. My problem is that the domain controller itself refuses to open; I’m being told the password is incorrect, yet it’s the same password I use to access the other servers. I even tried unplugging the cable and it still doesn't work. I looked for ways to restore or repair the system without the system CD because the company lost it. When I go to the system recovery option, I can't find the system, and if I go to the next step, I get the error "the specified file is not found." After clicking OK, the system recovery options are presented; I try the startup repair option, it initiates the repair but gives me nothing. If I choose the system restore option, it prompts to restart the computer, select an operating system, and then select system restore, but it doesn’t give me anything. For image recovery, I am told "the specified file is not found." I’ve browsed some forums to do some manipulations with the command prompt, but that didn’t yield any results either. I’m left with only one last solution to use a Windows Server 2008 R2 CD, but I think it will take quite some time to get that. So if you have any suggestions for me, that would really help. Thank you.

Kouma,
thank you for asking your question in a new discussion instead of bringing this one back up which does not concern you, please.
