Computer turns on by itself at a set time

Hello, after browsing a bit through the forum, I'm posting because I couldn't find the solution to my problem. My laptop starts up by itself at 8:20 in the morning. I should specify that it was completely shut down (power button off). I've searched everywhere for the cause without success (BIOS, updates, scheduled tasks, event manager). If anyone has an idea, I'm all ears, thanks.
Configuration: Windows 7 Firefox 3.6

    Good evening,

A solution that works for me. Use the cmd function to find the wake-up device in question.

Click Start (Windows flag at the bottom left of the keyboard)/type cmd in the search box. At the prompt, type:

powercfg devicequery wake_armed then press Enter

I got: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller as the wake-up device.

To disable the wake-up function of this device
Open cmd as an administrator then enter the command

powercfg -devicedisablewake "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller" then press Enter.

The wake-up function of this device is therefore disabled.

I hope this information helps you chase away the ghost that wakes your laptop every morning at 8:20 AM.

Thank you very much! I had the same problem and I copied your commands.

I had practically the same thing as you: Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller

      It worked!

I was looking for this exact answer!
      Thanks again

Good for me, the problem is solved
I reactivated the network interface this morning and it was OK
so you need to go to the Toshiba site, enter your laptop type, download the BIOS update, and execute the update.

    Hello,

Is your laptop connected to the Internet when it turns on?

    Hello,

that's funny xD I did it to a friend ^^ actually, it's quite simple, in the BIOS you can set a startup time, and at the given time, the PC starts

If it's not that, let me know ;)

    Neliel:

I disabled the wi-fi and unplugged the network cable.

    nowak:

I can't find an option like that in my BIOS, I looked through the entire BIOS and found nothing.

I just set the time to 8:217 and at 8:20 it started up by itself.

Yeah, but still, it’s a bit annoying when I wake up in the morning and the battery is dead >.<

Leave it plugged into the power supply... that will at least solve the problem of the dead battery.
As for the rest, I don't know if the scheduled task service can start Windows... but take a look in that direction anyway.

    Hello,

could you give me the model of your laptop as well as the BIOS version? I will try to find the menu for you. And the time you changed, is it the BIOS time or the Windows time?

    It's a Toshiba A500 1GL; BIOS: Phoenix SecureCore Version 1.10

The time I've changed is the one in Windows. Thank you for your help, I’m desperate. I formatted the computer as if it was coming out of the factory and still have the same problem.

    Hello
It must be a setting in the BIOS, enter the BIOS and then look for powermanagement (it varies from one BIOS to another) then try to find Auto On Mode; it should be set to off.

I've already looked to see if there was a mode like that, and unless I'm blind, there isn't one.

On my Toshiba BIOS, the menu is called "AUTO POWER ON," and inside you have 3 or 4 options, including Wake On Lan (which allows you to turn on a computer via a network).

EDIT: it's in the OTHER area (1st Page).

Good evening everyone. I have the same problem with my PC, it's also a Toshiba A500 1GL, it turns on by itself at 8:20 as well. Did you solve the problem Ajirass?

the powercfg command doesn't work because I'm not an admin.
however, it is indeed the wake-up by the network card that is the issue.
so go to control panel, system, device manager, realtek PCIe GBE family controller, advanced, select disable wake on magic packet, then disable.
same for wake on magic packet
same for wake on pattern match.
    good luck.
    I'll check tomorrow morning.
    when? of course at 08:20.

I tried the day before yesterday, it didn't work
but yesterday I did two things
      1-disable the network card
      2-at Toshiba I downloaded a BIOS update
This morning it was OK, tonight I reactivated the network interface
      I'll see tomorrow
