What do you think of McAfee? Need reviews?

I have a problem, I recently purchased a McAfee license and I'm having trouble reinstalling it; it says: "Before reinstalling McAfee products, you must restart the computer."
If anyone has a solution, that would be great, thank you very much.

I have been using AVG for years, and this antivirus suits me. Unfortunately, during installations or reinstalls, there are error messages. It's impossible to deal with them by email because they require you to call. It takes many communications to resolve the issue, while this error message has been persistent for years. I think they make their money from phone calls, rather than from selling their software. It's a shame because it works well.

I feel the same way; I can't get rid of their messages even after uninstalling the program.
It's harassment. I don't have a virus, and they claim to have found over 500—it's quite something.
I installed Avast free, reliable scan, 0 viruses.
McAfee's goal is to sell, not to help you.
The technician surfed my PC remotely.
The result is worse than before, unless I buy an add-on.
I refused, and they left me without a solution despite an extended warranty and a McAfee package.

THANK YOU "claire33000". Indeed, as much as I am satisfied with McAfee WebAdvisor (which seems both serious and accurate, moderating the level of danger), I chose to uninstall the antivirus that was alerting me constantly and slowing down my PC (it was quite a hassle to uninstall - like Panda!).
Since then, I have installed AVG, which I am happy with (a recommendation from a computer-savvy Facebook friend).

Let's say that when you "download" this file and it provides you with the "keygen" (which is normal), it considers it a dangerous file to the security of your computer and will delete it directly. So you will have to disable the "antivirus protection" for a certain period to copy this "keygen".
But I maintain that it's still a good antivirus even if apparently it is not very well known.

McAfee is a real sieve. Very bad experience. After a serious viral attack, I downloaded MICROSOFT SECURITY ESSENTIALS, which is free and easy to download, and it quarantined and then eradicated two formidable Trojans that McAfee had left on the computer.
In total, it cost me the repair of the PC + the subscription, and McAfee turns a deaf ear to refund requests.

I confirm for the strainer, it also cost me an arm to have it repaired. Even though there were 10 months left on the subscription, I got rid of it and replaced it with AVIRA. Apparently, it’s pretty effective and anyway it’s free lol

Hello, I also had some issues with my virus-infested PC but with Bitdefender.
To avoid spending an arm and a leg to have it repaired, just back up all your files on an external hard drive or a USB stick and restore the factory settings. Well, it’s a bit lengthy since you have to reinstall everything afterwards, but it saves you the expense.

As for McAfee, I have that on my computer as well, but it's a free version. I'm considering changing it, but I'm not sure what to go for. Bad experience with Avast and Bitdefender....

I am very disappointed with McAfee because the first year €30 was deducted from my account, and then suddenly I was charged €89 for a simple antivirus.
SCAM!!! So the only way is to cancel your credit card. The company keeps your details and informs you the following year that your account has been debited. And there you go, it's THEFT plain and simple. So be careful!!!!!

On my new computer, McAfee is pre-installed, and I can't completely remove it, so I've had to resign myself to keeping it. I realized this when I tried to install Kaspersky, which turned into a disaster. In my opinion, if there are two antivirus programs installed, they cancel each other out. So, I'm stuck with McAfee.

Bonsoir, McAfee is very good; after all, no antivirus protects well and 100%. It all depends on the user, of course. For me and my use, I'm not a beginner. McAfee is great, especially when subscribed with the Freebox.
