MY COMPUTER HAS NO BATTERY LIFE

Hello,
I have a laptop that is a few years old, model: FUJITSU SIEMENS AMILO L6820, it has no battery life, as soon as I unplug it, it shuts down... What could be the cause? I've heard that it might have retained a memory of needing to be plugged in, so as soon as it's unplugged, it shuts down.. I'm perplexed..
Is this a configuration issue? I’ve also read that it could be a motherboard problem...?
Anyway, I’d like to know more, and even get a little help because I won’t hide from you that I'm not very knowledgeable about computers :-)

    Hi!

    So if you plugged in your laptop and at the same time you left the battery, it must have taken a hit; well, it was probably overcharged and definitely failed, I read that in a book about my laptop, so all of this probably comes from the battery.

    pfff if only someone had told me that I shouldn't leave the battery while charging it!!!
    the worst part is that I don't even know where the battery is lol!!!

    The battery is the big thing underneath the laptop that has a button next to it to remove it. :p

    Well, batteries are a whole hassle. You shouldn't fully discharge them. If you take it out of your laptop, you should leave it at around 40% charge. And once every 2 months, you should fully discharge it so it doesn't lose its capacity and knows that its limit isn't 99% but actually 0% (yes, yes, a battery thinks).

    I think I've found the location of the battery... lol... well, I just have to change it now... anyway, it can't be just that, can it???

    Well, if your PC works normally when it's plugged in but loses all its power as soon as you unplug it, it’s pretty clear that the issue is with the battery.

    If it could be due to the battery. If your PC has no battery left, it can no longer work without being plugged in. Let's say it's evening :p

    However, for a battery you need to find one that is suitable for your laptop. That's another thing and it costs almost €100 too.
