My projector only displays my wallpaper

Hello,
when connecting my projector to my laptop (Acer Extensa 5620 Z), it only displays the picture of my wallpaper (without the icons on my desktop). I am using Windows XP SP3.
I have tried adjusting the display settings but nothing works.
I encountered the same problem under Vista and it has never worked since, even after formatting my computer.
Thank you for helping me if you have a solution
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

    Good evening,

I'm thinking about a screen resolution issue or the number of colors displayed?

    What projector? Characteristics?

    Cheers!

Actually, due to professional obligations, I've tried several.
The latest one is the Epson EMP-52.

According to the doc, it's an SVGA (800*600). What resolution are you using on your laptop (right-click on the desktop, properties, settings, resolution)?

      See you!

currently 1280 by 768 pixels but I forgot to tell you that at startup I do have the display of the startup pages but once the session is open I only see the background
      thank you

According to my memories, you are "doomed" to run at 800*600 on the laptop at least for the duration of the presentation. Have you tried? Or were you hoping for a different answer?

      See you!

      Hello
I tried but it still doesn't work.
In fact, I don't think it's related to a display issue since I can get an image (the wallpaper), but rather a configuration problem.
