Hello,
I just got my Archos 5 after leaving it charged. When I tried to turn it on, it shows me "Would you like to recover system?" with three options:
- no
- repair disk
- format disk
- force touchscreen calibration
The touchscreen doesn't work, my computer doesn't find it, and I can't turn it off.
WHAT TO DO???

You certainly have a manual with... if you read it a bit, it would enlighten you a lot..
Would you like to recover the system:
-no
-repair disk "driver"
-format disk "format the Archos with the driver"
-force touchscreen calibration "activation of the touchscreen calibration" -
I had the same problem.
If your Archos is not plugged in, do it. Turn off your Archos (power button for 15 seconds) and as soon as it restarts, press the hold button. That's when recovery code 101 or 102 appears (and not 108).
You select formatting (if formatting doesn't work, try repair...), and you will download the latest update at:
http://www.archos.com/support/updates.html?country=fr?=frfirm
After that, just follow the instructions on the site. -
Hello, I'm mega-uping this issue because I'm having the same one.
We agree that the manipulation to access recovery (101 or 102) is to hold power + vol up?
Because even doing that, either it turns off again (after more than 15 seconds) or I land on 108, or the repair doesn't even ask me to connect my PC :-(
Any ideas?
