My computer plays music by itself.

Question

Hello,my computer sometimes starts playing music, and even when all the windows are closed, the music (or sounds, depending on the time) persists and I can't figure out where it's coming from.I'm quite afraid it might be a virus, but I don't understand what kind of virus it could be.Thank you for helping me if you have any idea of what I have.

Well, the same thing happens to me. It sounds like video game music, it's very strange. It's kind of rock, and it's often the same music that starts!

Yeah, well it's the same for me... And I'm cracking up, there’s one of those rock/blues songs that keeps playing over and over. ><  I don't understand anything anymore.  I have Windows 7...

Good evening,

I’m relieved, I’m not the only one.
My PC is doing the same thing... blaring at 11 PM... and now I had to endure "It's annoying" followed by the sound of a skit from Cauet (I think) with him banging a girl on a photocopier... nice.

None of the players are open, and the music isn't in my playlists...

Does anyone have an idea?

I should mention that my PC is barely a month and a half old...

I often find myself hearing German music or the call to prayer of Muslims, usually at night or early in the morning when there is no noise.

I thought I was hallucinating, but I realized it was coming from the speakers that pick up, I don't know how, radio frequencies at times, but it's mostly barely audible and therefore more shocking when there is no surrounding noise.

It may be the same thing.

Yeah, that happens too, I read about it. There is information, just search on Google for "PC that talks by itself" or something like that.

As far as I'm concerned, it's not just frequencies being picked up but something that's clear and distinct, especially since it's the same music that keeps repeating and not a radio playing.

It happens to me too, but it's English advertisements and sometimes they talk... Plus, I wanted to go on Facebook, and usually I check "remember me," but now I have to re-enter my password?? That has never happened before…

Meh.

Between us, I think a good cleanup of the cache and cookies from our browsers would do some good.

Then, an online scan with an antivirus, and a scan with your antivirus on the PC.

Just a little gentle cleanup. I'm going to do a few things and I'll keep you posted.

However, I would really like someone who knows a bit more about this here? :D That would be nice. ^^

I am super happy to know that I am not all alone. The music is haunting and sounds a bit like rock percussion, and sometimes it stops abruptly. What a relief!!
There are even times when my computer makes strange noises like dishes falling....
I feel like this started happening after an automatic update, but of what? Maybe Windows, maybe HP.... Do you have HP?

I did a system restore to a date before I had my English radio problem, and since 10 a.m. this morning, nothing... It's 2 p.m. Plus, I was hearing that damn radio every 5 minutes before. So I believe, I hope that I've fixed my problem...

For those who are still having issues, you need to find a piece of ferrite to place at the base of your long headphone or speaker wire. Indeed, audio wires behave like antennas. They sometimes pick up the radio waves that surround us.
These pieces of ferrite are contained in the "chokes" at one end of power cables or on USB cables.

I found it for my part. I had downloaded a radio "Enjoy Plus!" and it started automatically on startup. You just need to go to Control Panel and remove it if you have a radio installed...

Hello everyone, my computer did the same things as all of yours. I advise you to go to Start, then type Task Scheduler in the all programs bar and check that you don't have any alarms installed. That's what happened to me; after that, I don't know about you.
