Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to boot from a USB flash drive.
My motherboard is an Asus P5N-E SLI, and I have the latest version of the BIOS.

Thank you Nabla, thanks to you I succeeded, you need to press F8 at startup and then the key appears.
Thank you to you and to everyone else.

Hello,
I have no idea about your motherboard's ability to boot from a USB drive, but it’s easy for you to check.
Access the BIOS, and look for the option "Boot Device Priority" or something like that.
From there, you will see if you have the option to boot from USB or not.

You connect a USB key, and during the first screen of your motherboard, try to press the key corresponding to the BBS function (F8 for me, Esc on some).
Otherwise, in the BIOS, as mentioned above, if a key is plugged in, you should see it in the "boot" menu if your motherboard supports booting from USB.
However, you need to "prepare" the key to boot from it (there are tutorials online for that).

In the BIOS boot options, I have this:
hard disk
cdrom
Removable
I tried with removable but it does nothing.
Actually, it's to run Gparted...

You know, you can burn GParted onto a rewritable CD, it's even simpler, and it works for sure on all computers.
Indeed, it's more practical on a CD, but otherwise your motherboard does take USB booting into account, it's the "removable" option.
Your USB drive needs to be bootable, though; otherwise, it won't see any bootable "removable" options and will look for bootable "hard disks" or "CD-ROMs".

I share this thank you with those who also looked for it ;) (because their solutions were good, it's just that you didn't find the right place in the BIOS)
