Hello,

Here is my problem: the internal hard drive of my laptop is apparently corrupted and I'm unable to reinstall Windows 7. Before changing the drive, I would like to format it from a USB stick containing DOS commands, which seems to be the only way, in my opinion, to achieve this since it is obviously impossible to format it from Windows 7, as it doesn't want to "commit suicide."

How do I create this USB stick that would allow me to boot and then proceed to format the drive from the DOS commands?

Thanks to everyone for your help.

    Hello,

Personally, I would directly use a USB stick with Gparted. The graphical interface is simpler and more intuitive, and it can be run directly from a USB stick.
