Hello,

I wanted to rename and check the network domain of a computer in the company where I work, but I found that the modify buttons (the computer name) as well as Network ID are disabled and greyed out, which prevents me from continuing my checks.

How can we reactivate these options?

Note that I accessed with an administrator account and I am using Windows XP.

Here is a screenshot to better explain the problem:

Thank you in advance.
Configuration: Windows XP

I found the solution which is actually due to a certain service: Workstation which was disabled.

didn't you have a smaller screenshot because my 24" is too small to display the entire image...

The function in question must have been disabled and you need to be part of a certain group to have the rights.

In fact, I accessed the position with local administrator rights, so I normally have all the rights to access the system configuration.

sometimes even as a local admin, within a corporate network, there are higher-level administration groups, so make sure to inform yourself.
